I am a qualified, professional clinical behaviourist and dog trainer based in Dorset. My passion is to help dogs and their families to have the very best lives, together. While out with my own dog I would meet people most days who were having issues with their dogs and, in the worst cases, where the relationship with their dog was under serious threat due to training and behaviour issues. Without

exception, the people I met want to do the best for their dogs. Unfortunately, so much of the dog training advice available on the internet and on social media is confusing, contradictory and, often, very outdated. There was clearly a need for something different. My Philosophy:
My dog training and behaviour modification work is based on a knowledge of animal behaviour. When we truly understand how dogs learn and how we can effectively communicate with them, we can help our dogs make good choices. I will guarantee, however, that my approach to training will help you bond with your dog and will create something much, much more than a simple quick fix. My approach is supportive and confidence-building; there is no right or wrong, good or bad. I bring a coaching style to my session and all of the training with your dog, and with you, is a journey and something to be enjoyed. Through this approach, I will help you to build the relationship with your dog that you (both) want.

It was a windy sort of day

As some of you will know, Martha (my Springer) had a serious accident when she ran into/landed on a pruned mountain laurel branch. The damage was pretty horrific. We were incredibly fortunate to be able to administer first aid there and then in the middle of Canford Health. But thanks to my incredible client, Helen, her dogs Luna and Barley, the random man who helped carry Martha that extra few hundred metres when I was fit to drop, Hillside Veterinary Centre for fixing Martha (and being so incredibly kind in dealing with the sight of a sweaty, muddy, panicking 50-year-old man in tears) - Martha has made a full recovery. In fact, she was far more put out by the two weeks of light exercise than any injury. The point of this post is to make everyone aware of the potential dangers of those spear-like branches that are everywhere on Canford Heath and again to recommend the value of carrying even the most basic of first aid bits - when you need it, you need it!

Martha was even less impressed when she had to wear her Henbury View First School PE t-shirt - go green team!

After the v***n who lives in our garden had four cubs in 2020, we were sad not to see any cubs last spring. We spotted the v***n looking very pregnant last week and had seen new digging around one of the holes. So, we set up the trailcam to see what we could see - didn't expect to see this lady coming out of the hole.
