Last week we did a visit to a smaller home. Every one was so happy to see him. It really did make their day. It also made my day hearing peoples life stories and sharing happy memories.

Just look at that smile on his face. A picture says a thousands words. He really does have such an amazing job, one which he absolutely loves, as do I!!

Jaxxon regularly visited Gladys weekly.
From the moment she first saw him she fell in love with him.
Gladys used to tell me off for calling him Jaxxon, said he should be called Samson haha.
She always had banter and never failed to make me laugh every time we visited.
By the end, despite having dementia, she remembered his name!! That shows the impact Jaxxon had on her.
He brightened her up every time, and even on the days she wasn't 100% she still managed a smile and her banter for us.
Jaxxon and I really bonded with Gladys, and she has left a huge hole in our hearts.
You will be missed Gladys, by both myself and Jaxxon. I'm so glad he made such a difference to your life at the end.
This is the hard part of our job. We don't just go and see people, we make real friends.
See you again 🌤☁️🐾

If only I could show the faces of the people here. Some are crying, some are so happy to see him.
The power of seeing a dog! There's just too many benefits to list. Relieves stress, helps with anxiety and depression, brings back memories for some of dogs they owned themselves which in turn gets them talking about their life.

The power of love. Dogs don't just become someone's life, they take their heart too. When I see elderly one's happy to see Jaxxon it does make my heart ache a little, because I can feel the love they had for their own dog once upon a time. ❤️🐾🐕

Jaxxon is doing his rounds again making people smile.
Unfortunately for privacy, I have to blur the residents faces, but you can see the love he's giving people.
People's face and moods lift instantly.
It's such a joy to see, and of course Jaxxon gets lots of cuddles which he adores.
Love is all around. 🐾❣️

Good afternoon 🐾

My name is Abigail and I have a working therapy dog that comes in to care homes/hospices to give people some therapeutic comfort.
His name is Jaxxon and he's a Golden Retriever.

We currently go in to 3 different care homes and I am looking to expand as it makes such an impact and difference to residents.
It is proven to reduce stress and anxiety, and gives people some happiness, especially ones who used to own dogs but can no longer.
