🌟 1:1 Puppy Session - Bonnie 🌟
Today’s session was about house manners, knowing what is acceptable, setting boundaries and being consistent!
Bonnie is starting her adolescence so can be trying at times, testing the patience of her owners on occasion!
~
Adolescence marks the change from puppy to adult, starting any time between 6-12 months, ending between 18-24 months. During this period there are dramatic hormonal changes & a reorganisation of the brain, appearing as a rebellious / defiant / teenager phase!
Did you know that the most common age for rehoming a dog is between 6-18 months old, during these hardest puppy adolescent years, which take the most commitment and the most effort from owners!
Dogs will often test their owners, seeing what they can get away with, so it's even more vital to stay consistent with your training to establish boundaries.

I absolutely love helping dogs, adults, & children through my 1:1 Sessions and Group classes.
I pride myself on maintaining a non-judgmental, relaxed attitude that puts people at ease while achieving great results in a fun and friendly environment. I use only positive reinforcement and reward-based training methods to encourage a positive relationship between dog and owner - never negative or harsh techniques.
Daily training is ESSENTIAL.
Not only does it strengthen the bond between a dog and their owner, but it also establishes clear boundaries and provides the mental stimulation needed to tire your dog out.

💭 What’s your dogs namesake, and how similar are they 💭
NANUQ - named after another of my fave films The Lost Boys (1987). Nanook is an Alaskan Malamute that belongs to Sam. He is protective of Sam, and saves him from the vampires, even biting his brother who is a half-vampire - meanwhile my Nanuq is just a moron!

LUDO - named after one of my favourite films Labyrinth (1986). Ludo is a gigantic beast in Labyrinth, he may look monstrous, but he has a gentle, kind and playful nature - just like my Ludo!

Many MANY years ago I started my career working with horses, studying amongst other things Equine Sports Science & Psychology.
I have always been an animal lover, as you can see!

Here are my Stooge dogs Ludo (14yrs old!) and Nanuq (nearly 7yrs old) and my son Morgan (12yrs old).
I have been working with dogs for 14 years, in Rescue & Rehoming, Dog Training and Dog Walking.

Even though Ludo & Nanuq are actually half brothers (same dad), and they do similar things (see photos!) their personalities couldn’t be more different!
But they are both amazing loving boys 🥰
