Arthritis is a common but complex condition... But a LOT can be achieved with low cost interventions! 😀
✔️ Keep your dog slim - this may even save you money! We know you want to treat your dog but too much of a good thing can lead to a very bad thing - the pain of arthritis. If your not sure if your dog is a healthy weight, or how to manage it then speak with your vet nurse who can give you lots of free or low cost advice!
✔️ Don't allow them to slip and slide on tiled or laminate flooring - a few rugs or runners can help keep them safe and comfortable.
✔️ Avoid the stairs! Stairs risk falling and high impact on the joints which can lead to injury and pain.
✔️ Avoid over exercising - your dog doesn't have the forethought to not over do it but you do! ✔️ Keep their minds busy - boredom is very bad for the perception of pain so making sure your dog has lots of stimulating toys to play with and some dedicated "you" time is really important.
