Irish Paul’s Horses Showjumper, trainer, and horse dealer Based in Berkshire. I have also competed for 30 years on a variety of horses that I have trained myself.

Most people in the area probably know a bit about me but for those who don't here is a bit about what I do:
I have had over 20 years experience producing and bringing on amateur competition horses and ponies. Some of the horses I have produced and sold have taken there riders to the top shows in England and I'm frequently contacted informing me of the successes of my previous horses. I have 3 tal

ented young riders currently riding for me who help me bring out our horses full potential. I've been training some junior riders over the course of the winter which have resulted in great success!

If anyone, anywhere tells you to pull the horses head down (or uses leverage and gadgets to do so) they have no knowledge of healthy horse biomechanics or of correct training.
The horse's nose must always lead, with the poll highest and the gullet open. The base of the ears mustn't be lower than the withers. The jaw must be mobile. If the horse cannot chew and swallow, the hindlegs cannot operate correctly. If the hindlegs cannot operate correctly, the horse will not be able to jump, or stay off the forehand, or stay sound.
"Don’t be obsessed with the head and neck, learn to feel what the hindquarters are doing." ~ Glenys Shandley

Do you remember the last time you slept in an awkward position and woke up with horrible neck or shoulder pain? It makes simple tasks like getting dressed or driving painful. The lingering stiffness lasts all day, or even for several days.

Now imagine your a horse with neck pain, consider how uncomfortable it would be to move in a frame, to flex and bend and be supple in each gait.

Sometimes horses with neck pain may show subtle signs which many of us ignore. Make sure your is regularly checked by a qualified body worker to avoid injuries or any unwanted behaviours.
