Let’s talk about it…
Last year this farmer received £13 for his wool…
This doesn’t even come close to covering the cost of shearing the sheep. A lot of farmers are throwing away there wool because ‘it’s to much hassle and worth nothing anyway.’

It’s wrong that wool is worth next to nothing.

Wool is durable, flexible, flame and water resistance. It’s variety of uses means very little is wasted. It is also sustainable, renewable and biodegradable, making it an environmentally friendly option.

In 2010 wool was worth £1.50/kg.
2021 it was £0.30/ kg…
It’s looking like prices may rise, but still only to £0.36/kg.

In 2020 there was 70 thousand tons of wool produced in the UK. The sheep have to be shorn for their welfare so why aren’t we using their fleeces more?

This little cutie ate her way through a whole cabbage whilst she led her friends to the board this morning. Another 112 over the board today, this time Texels and Mules mostly, with the odd Suffolk for good measure. 230 in two days…
