It's about time I added a post. Everyone been winter training. Competition has started but only three to report on and what a mixture....dressage, event and driving!!
Sarah and"Finn" came a very good 8th at Novice Area Festival. He is an extremely spooky horse and sadly 2 spooks dropped his score , would have been higher but 8th in a strong class was pleasing.
Lily and "Bobby" jumped a super double clear at BE 100 Open, dressage Lily said "he just about contained himself " !! Anyway a good score and double clear gave them a solid 8th place.
Best of all Jamie and "Barney " went to the National Winter Driving Champs and won !!!
The cones and obstacles have been getting better and better but sadly the dressage was letting them down. We have worked hard and I teach them exactly as if they were under saddle , it worked! Only a quarter of a point off the dressage leader and super round in cones and obstacles left Jamie the winner.
I am looking forward to the coming season . Love seeing the horses I train going so well. Happy training!

What a dreadful run of weather for everyone! Luckily Calmsden ODE went ahead and wanted to post this lovely photo of Jess Tishall with "Star". They jumped a fab double clear around the BE 90 not easy at only 14h!
Also wanted to mention Lily Sweet and her lovely horse "Bob" . Again months of hard work through the wet winter , only to have the events entered cancelled , so we set off to Rectory Farm , Combined Training and Lily won the 2 star with a great dressage score of over 72% and one of only 2 clears sj!! Well done to her and loads to look forward to.
Sally Billings has kept up her winning ways in BD Novice , Elementary with her lovely mare'Dolly". Also her new ride who had not competed before has now been out in Prelim and won with really high scores.
I am really looking forward to the coming season if this is anything to go by.
Good luck to everyone!

About time I posted an update! Feel very with the dedicated students I have to teach.
We have focused hard on training thru the winter. So far only 2 have been out to compete...the others focused on training.
So we'll done to Sally ,again, stepped out to win her BD novices' and has progressed to Elementary and won at first attempt with a score over 67%, brilliant!
Lily has worked hard with me all winter, took my advice ,no jumping untill our canter improved! Great news, 2 lovely jump lessons and then comp on Sunday at Cherwell , where they finished 2nd with a lovely double clear! This all looks good for the coming season.
Also we'll done to Lily, sailing through her BHS Stage 3, we worked hard. Also Natalie passing stage 3 care. I have 2 other ladies, one going for stage 3 and one for stage 2. I am sure they will do well , as every week I see them, they improve!
I have high hopes for the coming season, exams included!
Well done everyone, correct training means happy horses, happy riders and great results 👍

Just a thought.....all training going well! I love Autumn and Winter, not the weather, but such a chance to concentrate on our training ready for next season!
But it has come to my notice, as at the moment I have 3 lovely ladies training for their BHS Stages, one at Stage 2 and two at Stage 3.
It seems difficult to get good sound training for some of the sections within the stages. If anyone reads this and needs help with various topics in the syllabus, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Or pass this on to someone who may need some extra help. My number 07979 607139.
I am able to sign off, but obviously will only do this if satisfied with your standard.
Have posted this as know exams are on all times of the year, but seems to be several in next couple of months. So if anyone out there needs some extra help, I am happy to do so. Amanda.

I thought it was time for an update. I have had such a brilliant time with my students this season!
Results have been super. Sally qualified for the BD National Champs, first time of trying. Absolutely brilliant result at the champs finished in the top half only 4% behind the winner. Yesterday we had a score of over 71% in a BD Novice. Also I have 3 lovely ladies all working towards BHS stages and so far all passes in stage 1 and 2 and training on to stage 3, so well done them !!
My youngest student, Jamie 12yrs, drives!! Teaching is the same as riding and we have made huge progress. He competed at The Driving National Champs, which he had to qualify for. Did so well in all 3 phases, hence the photo of the x country phase.
Well done to everyone and I have loved training them all. Happy training, Amanda.

I am posting as a very proud trainer! All lessons going really well. I have a new student that has a lovely big cob. She competes locally in dressage and ODE. Already after just several lessons has been out and won a combined training 👍.
I was so appreciative of the message I received after only 4 lessons." Thank you Amanda. I love our lessons xx"
So nice to receive a message off the cuff like that.
Sally continues to do brilliantly, 70+% score posted again BD Novice. Area Festival and Regional Finals to look forward to now.
Jamie my driving competitor continues to improve with his dressage. So much so he won his class at Windsor on the weekend!! Posted a good dressage, and as a result of the training his cones and marathon were better.
So its onwards and upwards for all of us. Happy horses everyone. Amanda.

We are getting there!

Its been a while so thought it was time for a round up!
Sadly still have 3 out of action but everyone else going great guns! Well done to Sally and "Dolly " who have qualified for Prelim Regional Final and Novice Area Festival. Aiming for Novice Regionals so has some comps lined up. Will keep you posted.
Have recently started 2 new students, a lovely cob and my youngest pupil 12yr old Jamie who is a keen driver!
I am helping him with his driving dressage and we have made huge improvements in several lessons, so look forward to his next comp in a couple of weeks.
Ali and her lovely cob Lexi have been doing their homework and though it's only been 3 lessons went out and won their Combined Training at Rectory Farm!!
Well done to all from a very trainer.

Lovely result at the weekend. Sally and" Dolly " competing at the National Dressage Championships in the Combined Training Class. Novice test ,90cm course. They finished 8th, good test and a clear round. They finished 8th out of I think 42 starters from all over the UK.
Lovely to have a student in the top ten at a Nationals again.
Hope to have several more at The Championships next year if we can have some sound horses !!🐎🐴

So pleased to pick up the Horse and Hound yesterday and find a write up about one of my pupils. Thrilled.

I had a lovely couple of days over Easter. For those of you that have never been to the Lambourn Open Day on Good Friday, put it in the diary for next year.
I have always been busy teaching but helped my husband and his team at Windmill Farm last year and this. It's a great day and we had people from Scotland, Cheshire, Essex.
Then when the yards close there is plenty to see on the main field in Lambourn!
To top my weekend off, another high scoring result for one of my pupils.
Her third Prelim only and a score of over 68%. Brilliant result. Happy training, Amanda.
