👀Look at this fantastic loose lead walking!
🐶This puppy came from Greece a few months ago and is adapting well to her new life, with the dedication of her new family.
🐕We were training in a busy park with dogs, children, joggers, and bicycles and many other distractions.
🐾My client has worked so hard to achieve this. 👏🏻

I went to meet this pair of Boston Terrier x Pugs today. We worked on teaching a ‘leave’, and manners around food and toys.
We talked about sleep and rest and some strategies to help their owner when they are are from home.
It was a great session, these two are very quick learners and their owners have been working very hard on the training #petdogtraining #dogtrainingtips
Last weekend I attended a Dog First Course. I recommend Durst Aid Training for all dog owners. You may never need to use the training but you will feel more confident knowing you have done it @animalaiders
🐾Last weekend, I met this delightful miniature schnauzer. His owners have done a fantastic job with his training and have overcome lots of struggles but there was one problem that was making life difficult.
🐾It’s something that I see often, dogs that react when visitors come round.
🐾Some dogs bark, some growl, some lunge, others jump up, some do a mixture. This can be a scary experience for visitors, can be embarrassing and worrying for owners and dangerous for all concerned. If a dog should bite a visitor, they can be reported under the dangerous dogs act with life changing consequences for them and the owner.
🐾I don’t have a problem with dogs that bark when the doorbell rings or someone knocks at the door. It’s reasonable for them to let us know there’s someone there.
🐾The problem comes when the owner invites the visitor in and the dog continues to react.
🐾I can help with this situation. The training plan will vary from one dog and situation to another. It’s possible to help a dog learn that reacting to visitors is not acceptable and learn an alternative acceptable behaviour.

Front foot targeting with position transitions, fun activity for growing engagement and body awareness. You can see how much he loves this training. He’s not the only one working, on the bed is Flash 21 months old, he would love to join in but he knows his job is to stay on the bed until it’s his turn. It takes great self control to do this. #workingspringerspaniel #petgundog #petdogtraining
#pivoting Pivoting. Did you know lots of dogs don’t know or forget they have back legs?
A simple exercise like this requires them to slow down, focus and think about how they are moving.
This exercise creates hind limb awareness and muscle building. It’s important to move in both a clockwise and anticlockwise direction to use both sides evenly. #doggyfitness #pivoting
Live earlier with Cathy from @hortondogs discussing some of our favourite dog training tips. Let us know how you are getting on with your training and if you have a favourite training tip 🐾
Teaching a young puppy to put their front feet on an object. This is a foundation behaviour which is fun for a puppy to learn and can be great for building confidence. There are many extensions that can be added, try two paws on different objects, teach pivoting or a square stand. Can be used to help recall and heel work.
We will be teaching two paws on on our new foundation fitness class starting on 30th January. DM for more or visit www.bugzysdogs.co.uk
Six classes for £150, early bird offer £135
