I was thinking, for the new year of offering Luxury grooming 🐩, to include luxury shampoo and condition, doggy facial, paw massage with paw balm, nose balm, ear cleaning, nail trimming 💅, full body trim and Luxury perfume💐. Hello all. From January my appointment times for grooming will be changing to Monday: closed.
Tue: 10.30am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm.
Wed: 8.30am, 10.30am, 1pm, 3pm.
Thur: closed.
Friday: 8.30am, 10.30am, 1pm, 3pm
Saturday: 9am, 11am
Sunday: closed

Anyone who has already booked, your appointments still stand as they are unless you prefer the new times. I am able to do some bookings on a Monday and evening by request, but I won't be offering this as standard. Trying to be more productive and manage my time better! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂🐾

So, progress is progress no matter how small! I wanted to have my dog room fully fitted with a new door and windows by now, but I've realised that's too unrealistic at the moment as I'm fully booked most of the time! So I've made some small changes to make my garage more user friendly and comfortable for the winter ❄️🥶☃️ Things happen when they are meant to, so for now this will do 🙏☺️❤️🐶

This includes pet visits/feeding at your home whilst you are away? Much nicer for your cats and dogs than a cattery or kennels! ** WARNING** VERY LONG POST 🤣

So the story goes like this. In March 2020 I lost my job in an opticians like most people due to the pandemic. After a few months of searching online for a new job and living off £300 a month universal credit and my husbands 20% reduced wage, I thought sod it, I'm going to walk dogs for a living! Something I had always wanted to do 🐾. I set up a page and started walking my friends dogs and posting pics 🤷🏻‍♀️. After a little while when the lockdown started to ease I was began to get bookings! These booking soon turned into "Can you look after my dog?" to which I delightfully said yes! I found myself a lovely little part time job in an opticians in Newport, things were looking up! The dog business continued to grow, but the opticians started to get busier and busier. I increased my hours at work, but continued to walk and look after dogs too. It became a 7 day a week mission! Loving my job at the opticians, but loving my dog business I was being pulled in two different directions! Customers started to ask me if I could groom their dogs, so I bought myself some basic tools, bathed them in my shower and trimmed them on my kitchen floor 🤣. Word started to spread and I started to get new grooming customers as well as walking and sitting 🤦🏻‍♀️. Then in October 2021 my health took a turn, I ended up having to have a hysterectomy, the grooming took a bit of a back burner whilst I recovered, then we bought our first ever home as a family 😊. I was paddling along, torn between the dog business and working for someone else. As luck would have it, a friend's daughter was selling her dog grooming business, I thought sod it, let's do this properly. So I bought the equipment got it set up in our garage, started an online diploma and began to get more bookings! Fast forward to November 2023, I found myself so exhausted I couldn't carry on as I was. I left the opticians and the plan was to work full time from home, no dogs, no grooming, just normality! My customers had other ideas however 🤷🏻‍♀️. I was working 9 hours a day, grooming in the evenings and both Saturdays and Sundays 😭. I continued like this for a few months, then in February 2024 I took my daughter to the opticians to get her eyes tested. I realised how much I missed my old colleagues and wished I could go back to how things were 🥹. I hinted at going back and working a few days a week... 🤣 But in the meantime I asked on Facebook if a grooming service in perton would be viable. The response I got was phenomenal! I had 17 bookings in one evening! My mind was made up, I was going to hand my notice in and groom full time! The God's were looking down on me that day, as my old boss called and asked if I would like to work 2 days at the opticians!!! Of course I said yes!! Anyhoo, I left my job that day! I've been grooming dogs 3 1/2 days a week and working at the opticians 2 days ever since! I couldn't be happier!! The business is getting stronger and stronger. I have over 130 customers on my books😳 (just counted!!) and continue to get new bookings every day!! I want to say thank you so much to everyone who has supported me and helped me through the last 4 years! It's been tough, but we got there!! ❤️🐾
