Today has been perfect dog walking weather, not too hot, but dry😅🐾
Tomorrow, it’s Bank Holiday and the forecast is for another perfect day to get out with your best four legged friends….🐕🐶🐾
We have slots available in Willow Field after midday and later on in the day in Buttercup 🤗
These will be taken in the next few hours, so if you fancy a chilled, stress free walk tomorrow have a look and book a slot😊🐕🐾

Finally looks like summer has arrived, with next weeks forecast looking sunny and hot☀️
So, it seemed a good time to remind everyone about our opening hours🤗
Both fields are open daily from 6am and last bookings are at 9pm in Buttercup Field and 9.30pm in Willow. So there’s plenty of early morning times available and late evenings….just in case we get really hot weather!
Willow Field has the benefit of two large natural ponds. So great for your dogs to keep cool and enjoy their walks. Both ponds have duck w**d on them at the moment and some people have asked if it’s safe. It definitely is safe and actually helps prevent algae from forming.
So, why not make the most of a good weather forecast and book your four legged family a slot. In fact why not book two slots back to back and take a picnic🥪🍉🍓🧋🥤🍹🐾🐾🤗

Question….should we remove the fence separating the main field from the pond?
Personally, I think we should, my other half thinks we should keep it in place! So, we have an impass….aka as an ongoing domestic dispute🙈😂🤣🥴😂😅 So, I thought we’d put it out there and gather your views.
For what it’s worth, as the other pond isn’t fenced off, I can’t see the point of the new pond area being separate. I also think it would look better and would provide easy access from both sides😊😄💦💦

Bit of a different post on this soggy Friday🙈💦
Is there anyone who might be able to help this little guy? He needs a temporary foster home for a few weeks, while his mum is in hospital.
We ideally need a child free foster, or a foster with only much older children. He loves adults and is good with other dogs - but unfortunately he’s not used to living with children, and isn’t taking too kindly to being around the current fosters children! Nobody’s fault, just how it is sometimes. If anyone could help for a few weeks we would be super grateful! ❤️🐾

🐾 At long last….the pond in Willow Field is open💦💦🎉🎉🐾🐾
If your dogs like water and swimming then we very much hope they will love the new area😊🐾 It’s approximately 50m long and at its widest about 6m😛
The area is separated from the main field and access is via the gate shown in the photos. There is a chain and padlock on the gate….this isn’t locked, it’s simply to keep the chain together, if people don’t want to use the pond😅.
We very much hope you all enjoy the pond and look forward to seeing your photos😊🐾🐾

As many of you will know Buttercup Field has been more akin to a swamp the a field in recent weeks🙄🙄😪 The middle field in particular has taken a real battering from all the rain🥹 So, to avoid the muddiest part I’ve cleared the fence line to the right to provide a less muddy route 😅
The last couple of days it has started to dry out….so fingers crossed and a few more dry days and it will start to recover.

We have been working hard to create an exciting addition to Willow Field….we already have one small natural pond within the field but we have now enclosed a 50 metre pond. It has a shallow end and a deep end! We will be putting a gate in so you can take your dogs in for a swim, or deep paddle😄 🐾
We are considering fencing in the existing pond, but would like to know your opinions before we do that! Obviously, at this time of year all the ditches have water in them, so if you have a water baby, they will always get wet, muddy and a little bit smelly🙈🙈😅 But they love it❤️🐾
However, in the summer….yes it is coming😄🥰 the ditches dry up, but the ponds will still hold water!

After all the rain and wind it’s a welcome relief…..the fields are drying out a bit and the frost underfoot has made the last couple of days perfect for a chilly but really enjoyable dog walk.
There’s a few slots available in both fields over the coming days, so why not book yourself a slot in either Buttercup or Willow😊🐾
IMPORTANT
Just wanted to assure everyone that Suffolk Run Free do not believe there is any such thing as a bad dog!
We do however, want to reassure any customers who have a dog who fits the XL Bully criteria that you are more than welcome to rent either of our two secure fields.
Both fields are totally secure with 6ft high deer fencing, with the bottom 3ft covered with small mesh netting for added security. Buttercup provides six and half acres of beautiful fields to explore. Whilst Willow Field is a three acre field with lots of natural features and soon to have a huge natural pond.
Crucially when you make a booking the field is for your sole use. Therefore, once in the field and the gate locked behind you, you are free to remove your dogs muzzle and let them run free.
Please feel free to share this post in the hope that owners of dogs, who have a dog now deemed to be an XL bully type, might benefit from finding Suffolk Run Free

Question for you! Would you like to see the size of the pond increased? Willow Field is blessed with a natural pond….which has been invaluable this last week, allowing our gorgeous dogs to keep cool and have fun❤️🐾, but it’s quite small and not always deep enough to swim in🙂 However, the whole of the road side of Willow Field is a massive ditch and deep pond. Would you like to see Willow Field extended to include this? We are thinking about moving the fence line back to include the ditch and pond….and fencing the ponds, so that you can choose to allow your dogs to use them, or not; as the case may be. Your thoughts and comments would be much appreciated 🐶🐾 P.S. I think I know what these two little swamp monsters would say😂😂🙈
Keeping cool in Willow Field today😎😎🐾
What fun they had….many thanks to Jan and Loki for agreeing to meet me and Zeke for some water fun and lots of zoomies😂🤣 These guys had a blast today in Willow, having met for the first time on Tuesday in Buttercup. Zeke is currently in kennels here with us and is up for adoption….he’s a great young dog and incredibly dog friendly. This made my day seeing them playing together and having so much fun❤️🐾 It also serves to remind me why we set the secure fields up, so more people and dogs can enjoy off lead fun in a totally safe environment 😁🐾
Willow Field having its summer makeover today😎 Buttercup Field is a work in progress….first field topped, the rest will be completed on Monday evening😅 We try to manage both fields for enjoyment and enrichment for your dogs, but also for wildlife, hence leaving the grass long in parts, for as long as possible. However, we also know how pesky grass seeds can be….so time it just before the grasses disperse the seeds heads. Happy walking everyone….🐾🐾😊
Meet Zeke, who’s looking for a home, but also looking for a playmate to join him for walks at Suffolk Run Free! Do you have a friendly, playful dog that you would be willing to bring along to play with Zeke? He adores other dogs, size is immaterial as long as your dog likes a good game of chase😂 In the video, he’s with a large Lurcher cross, this was the first time they’d met. In the comments I’ll show you what he’s like with another of his play mates….the tiny JR Banjo🥰🐾 Looking for someone that would be able to meet us regularly….perhaps 3 times a week, midweek….from 2pm until 3pm. I’m not sure if people on here are aware but we run a dog rescue…..Paws for New Beginnings. I’m posting on here in the hope that someone might like to adopt Winston! Let me tell you a bit about him….. Winston has been with his family around 8 months, sadly though, and through no fault of his own we need to find him a new home. He’s approximately 14 months old, neutered, up to date with all his vaccinations and flea and worm treatments. He adores people, loves other dogs and loves being active. His only real fault is he can mouth when over excited. He’s fully house trained, is intelligent and obeys all basic commands. Recall, does however still require some work. Ideally, he needs a home with another friendly dog of a similar size….as he really does enjoy other dog company for games. He can be left for a few hours with no problems. He is still very puppy like in his behaviour….but he’s still very young😜🐾 We had him here with us for a week during the summer and he was just full of joy. He loved Suffolk Run Free, enjoyed his lead walks and loved everyone he met. A home check, and full rescue back up is offered, an adoption donation is payable.
