We wasn't sure Bear had remembered how to get upright for a moment! This big lad comes to us for daycare and is one of the most changed dogs we've had in. One form of training I absolutely love to work on is threshold training. Laying down safety ground rules around open doors and what is expected and when you have visitors or need to take in a parcel. WELCOME TO OUR REBRAND! I have been COMPLETELY blown away by the mass of support I have had over the changes here to The Woof Hub. It's been the toughest decision to ever have to make. Admitting you were wrong to go down a particular path and have the courage to turn round and go back has taken me some balls I can tell you that! And again, rebranding hasn't come lightly but Total Dog completely streamlines my future and that of the services we will continue to proudly offer here. The rebrand will take place over the next couple of weeks and by the 1st August we will be going live with the name change. It will be sad to loose The Woof Hub but it no longer feels right to me and no longer streamlines what we do and how we can advertise that we do it. I truly hope you like it ❤️

Daycare @ The Dog Lodge. This week saw our amazing Sue return to work after a foot operation 12 weeks ago. She has missed all the babies here, and from the welcome she got we think they had all missed her too! It's great to see her return to the team. It's always very quiet without her 😂.
Here we've got little Hugo showing everyone how a high five is done ❤️. To think Sue had never worked with dogs until she joined us here as Sarah's HR Support but she's come so far with learning everything she can about our dogs and their behaviour. She's so keen to learn and we love that.

Here is little Sonny at the start of his loose lead walking journey. Sonny is really high energy and has caused his owners no end of issues 🫣 but, he is starting to turn a corner and process what's being asked of him.

Grooming @ The Woof Tub. We're so proud of Owen and how hard he is training to become a fully fledged Dog Groomer here. He is calm, collected and strives to do the best for your dog while in our care. He takes his training seriously and has been working closely with Alyssia to complete his diploma. Owen is now at the stage where he is competently bathing, blowing, clipping off and booking in clients. Both him and Alyssia work well as a team and will always deliver 5* customer service to our grooming clients.

Yesterday we took in a HUGE order of treats ready for Pipers Pantry at The Woof Hub open day on Saturday 4th May. These will all be displayed on our gorgeous Welsh dresser which will soon become the Pic'N'Mix station. Your dogs will be able to come in and choose their 'sweets' from jars, just like we do in sweets shops! We've a huge selection from Pet Treats Wholesale Ltd and Nova Dog Chews which I'm sure will blow your socks off! Training @ The Dog Lodge. This is Odo. Odo has been with us in daycare for quite a while now and has undergone training with both Sarah and Grant during that time. Odo is reactive and has to be managed every step of the way during his home life, walks and interactions with places, people and other dogs. He is muzzle trained and wears an 'I Need Space' vest. Sarah picks Odo up on a Thursday and settles him before travelling him to daycare. This mirrors the training he's doing with his paw'rents. He then waits patiently in the van with some enrichment while the other dogs arrive in daycare. He is sensitive to the bells and noise of others arriving and doesn't set him up well for the day ahead if we just bring him into the early morning hussle and bustle of daycare. He then comes in, garden time and plays with the other dogs for around 15 / 20 minutes with supervision. This gives him the decompression time to allow him to then settle in his own space. Odo struggles to focus on tasks like snuffle games when there is a lot going off but with time, consistency and support at every step of the way Odo gets to enjoy all the same things non reactive dogs do.
