🏠 Teddy is looking for a new home! 👀

Teddy is a beautiful silver tabby boy of 7 years who is now looking for a new home due to not getting on with young children in the home. He is affectionate but doesn't like too much fuss. He loves to be played with especially with toys or feathers on a string and will leap up and down after them. Teddy is a bit of a character he is very talkative and has a deep, loud meow when he wants something. He is not too keen on other cats but he does like a garden where he can explore and spend time. He needs a home without children as he has been known to swipe in the past.

🌎 World Homeless Animal Day 🌎

Today we wanted to share with you some pictures and numbers of the cats we've rehomed in recent years!

So far this year to 31 July - 57 cats rehomed

2023 - 72 Cats rehomed

2022 - 80 Cats Rehomed

2021 -111 cats rehomed

2020 - 104 cats rehomed

As you can see, unfortunately our rehoming numbers have dropped nearly year on year. Why you ask? Unfortunately this is down to less volunteer fosterers - we desperately want to get more fosterers and help as many local cats as possible, if you want to know more about fostering please visit;

National Check the Chip Day!

Back in June the UK government passed legislation that means by law cats in England must me microchipped.

But did you know you can be fined for not doing this? You can also be fined for not keeping your details up to date, that's why it's so important to CHECK THE CHIP!

🏠 Kitty and Gingerbread are looking for a new home! 👀

Kitty is a pretty 11 yr old tortoishell girl who is the mother of Gingerbread, she is very affectionate, likes being stroked and is very active for her age. Gingerbread is a lovely 10 yr old boy who has a sweet nature and enjoys attention. He also doesn't mind a cuddle as he is a bit of a softy! These who would like to be homed together as they get on well with each other and she is quite protective of him. Gingerbread is a little nervous initially but soon comes out for strokes and a brush. They would probably be happy in a home with older children or maybe a couple without any other pets. He is used to going outside so would like a garden.

🏠 Mia and Paolo are looking for a new home! 👀

Mia is a pretty 11 year old tortie and white girl, Paolo is a 10 year old long haired tabby and white boy. Mia is very shy at first but once she gets to know you she is a very loving lap cat, as is Paolo, once he gets on he doesn't want to get off! He is looking for a family home with older children but no dogs. They do like to go outside so will need a garden to chill out and sunbathe in. This pair has come into care together but they can be rehomed together or separately.

🏠 Inky is looking for a new home! 👀

Inky disappeared from his home, living as a stray. When he was finally found, he returned extremely nervous and did not settle with the family’s other cat or children. We think he may have been badly mistreated in the time he was missing. Inky is 2 years old and will need a quiet, patient and knowledgeable home with no children or other pets. He seems to have an aversion to men and would settle better with a woman owner. Inky is a gentle soul who especially loves head rubs, but will give a grumble to let you know when he’s had enough. With the right home we have no doubt he will make someone a wonderful pet.

**** HIPPO HAS NOW FOUND HIS NEW HOME ****

🏠 Hippo is looking for a new home! 👀

Hippo is a sweet little boy of only 2 years old; he came into care as he didn't get on with the other cats in the house. Hippo's silky grey coat needed a bit of tlc and his fluffy tail has now grown back. He likes being brushed and flips on his side to have his tummy tickled. His favourite toy is a furry mouse and a piece of grass or string, he likes to watch the birds and can't wait to get out and explore. By the way, Hippo is not Hippo sized, but is petite, and much too pretty to be a boy!

🏠 Wren is looking for a new home! 👀

Wren is a beige tabby with a more spotted than striped very short coat, she is approximately 3 years old. She came into care as a very pregnant stray. She has had her kittens and they have since been rehomed and now lovely Wren is ready to find her forever too. She is a bit of a nervous soul, she isn’t one for cuddles but since staying here, she has learned to play, so in the right environment and once she has adjusted, she will happily sit with her new owner. She loves to be stroked and brushed, so hopefully when she settles She can enjoy some pampering. She has had a few medical issues during her stay and most are completely resolved but she will need monthly medication for the long term for the remaining issue. Wren is best suited to an adult home with no small children and she would prefer to be the only cat.

🐾 International Day of Friendship 🐾

Here's a special story about little Tyson (Left) and how he's settled into his new home..

'I fell in love with him from the moment he came bounding over in his pen to meet me. I picked him up, he bit my face and I knew that was it, he had to come home 😻. I was really touched by his story and just knew we could give him the loving home that he deserves.

I would say that the best thing about adopting him was watching him fit into our little cat family with his sisters Barbara and Olive and watching them teach him how to cat. After a few weeks he stopped biting and is just the funniest, cuddliest, clumsiest goofball ever. We don’t like to dwell upon what might have happened to him if he hadn’t come into the care of Cats Protection.'

🏠 Sprout is looking for a new home! 👀

Sprout is a very handsome, lively 8 month old boy who is very playful and loves attention. He is very active, likes to be stroked although can get very excitable and may try and bite so not suitable for young children. UPDATE: This girl has had us worried for the last 48 hours. She must have know we posted because she has just been found and returned home - safely back with her very relieved owner! ❤️❤️

This beautiful girl is Rori, she's 10 years old and a small cat who is nervous with people she doesn't know. She never leaves her garden and doesn't like the cold, she's often wrapped up in a blanket. On Thursday she disappeared from her garden and her owner is very worried. Rori is chipped and neutered and is an ex CP cat. She lives in A'Becket Gardens area. If you see Rori, please contact us on 07464656571. Let's get her home.
