Kate's Dog Walking

Kate's Dog Walking Please email [email protected] for more info. 3-6 dogs per walk. I have been working alongside dogs for over 10 years.
(20)

I am the owner of an 11-year-old Golden Retriever and an 8-year-old rescue Pug. Prior to working as a Dog Walker, I was a licenced Home Boarder for dogs, looking after dogs of different ages, sizes and temperaments. I have completed An Introduction to Canine Behaviour from Plumpton College and am committed to doing my best to keep up with current research regarding dog care. I have also completed

a Canine First Aid Course. Each dog has different needs. A lot of thought and care is given to relate to them individually in order to create a cohesive group. I want the group experience to be a positive one for each dog. This means that groups get to know each other very well becoming established and stable. Occasionally a new dog will join a group and if the "fit" isn't right I will speak to the owners about the way forward. Before a first walk with it's important to meet with you and your dog on a brief walk with my dogs. This is to have the opportunity to talk with you and to get a feel for which group may work well. Services offered:

Groups Walks - (3-6 dogs for hour long walks):

Β£14/ walk for an individual dog or Β£25/ walk for two dogs from the same household. Secure transit in air conditioned car with fitted crates of differing sizes in order to keep your dog separate from others when travelling. There is also a separate space that is not crated for those dogs who are nervous of crate confinement. Please note: When the weather is atrocious I will clean your dog(s) as best as I can. However it is not an exact science and there will be times when it is impossible to clean them off entirely. If you'd like your dog to be returned in pristine condition I am not the dog walker for you. Please email me at [email protected]

Or call on 07906 576909

I look forward to speaking with you.

Hi Folks, Kate's Dog Walking is taking a break for a couple of weeks. I'll be back on 2nd July.
Take it easy out there!

Our Coastal Office team has been very busy so far this weekend with multiple incidents of inflatables drifting out to sea.

Outside of the Coastal Office, located between the pier and lido on Worthing promenade, the orange windsock has been flown since Friday 31st May, letting people know that offshore winds are present and inflatables, such as dinghies, paddleboards and kayaks, are advised not to enter the water.

These offshore winds are predicted to continue until Monday 3rd June.

If you are heading out on the water this weekend, please ensure that you are wearing a buoyancy aid or lifejacket and have at least one way of contacting emergency services if you happen to get into difficulty.

What is an offshore wind?

An offshore wind is where the wind is blowing away from the shore. For us in Adur and Worthing, that would mean a wind coming from a northerly direction. Offshore winds are potentially dangerous because if you are in the water, swimming, paddleboarding, or sailing, you are being blown away from the shore and therefore away from safety.

Recent statistics released by the RNLI show that offshore winds have been a significant contributor in stand-up paddleboarders getting into trouble and we strongly advise against paddleboarding in offshore winds.

Please look after yourselves and each other while enjoying our coastline.

We have Duster staying with us for a few days. Such a lovely lovely boy who just makes himself at home.

Yesterday we spent a few hours at Laughton Spring Cuckoo Fayre. Both he and Mikey were such good boys. I made the dog wagon extra comfy so they could enjoy a well deserved snooze on the way home.

Then a sunbathe on the deck followed by extra food at dinner time.

Love these boys.

She's gone. My big beautiful, crazy, joyful girl Summer passed away yesterday.
After a lovely walk in our local countryside she took a turn for the worse.
Mum and dad were with her to the end.
It's been such a privilege to spend almost twelve and a half years with her.
Thanks Summer for being you.

Today has been a day to be grateful:

Grateful that I checked my tyre before it was completely flat and therefore was able to make it to Extreme Tyres before all air had fled the scene.

Grateful that little Daisy and Duster coped so well with all the strange noises, change in routine and long wait for their hour's group walk.

Grateful to staff at Extreme Tyres for their friendly, efficient and friendly service.

Grateful to all those dogs and owners who patiently waited for their delayed walks.

Grateful to fellow dog walkers for car park companionship and exchange of Friday mishaps!

Grateful to Karen Owen for the offer of her van for the day.

Grateful to Tom from Playgroup Dog Activities for his company and his canine buddies on my second walk.

Grateful to Jackie Perrins and Steve Tester for holding the Fort at home and looking after Duster.

Grateful to a member of the public who happily took some photos of me with my two dogs.

People and dogs, may be not cars (πŸ˜…) are really the best.

Thanks everyone!

Morning morning. Well, sometimes life gives you what you need...today a lesson in taking time to go with the flow. My trusty steeds Daisy and Duster helping me while we sort out a flat.

Time for a brief lead walk and a coffee take out where they met some new admirers and now we wait kerbside.

Don't worry canine buddies, walk will happen, but later than usual!

Some photos from our lunchtime walk.

It was blustery but that didn't dim their spirits.

And Duster is back in the building for a few days homeboard. Watching the back garden before having a kip. We LOVE him. Always lovely to have our old friend for a few days.

Now sorted thanks. :) ⚠️⚠️⚠️ URGENT APPEAL for Buddy and Zephy! ⚠️⚠️⚠️

~ Good evening, lovely people. We urgently need to find a new foster home for this lovely bonded pair of dogs, ideally within a three-hour drive of Chippenham, Wiltshire (we will arrange transport). We really hope to avoid placing them in kennels, so we need your help to spread the word, if you can't offer them a suitable home. Thank you!
https://www.oldies.org.uk/2024/urgent-appeal-could-you-foster-buddy-zephy 🐾

Buddy and Zephy, a nine-year-old lurcher boy and a twelve-year-old terrier girl, are best of friends and must stay together. They came into our care following a bereavement in their family. They're looking for a quiet home with kind and calm carer(s) who will help them feel safe and loved. Comfortable places to nap and a secure garden to potter in are their priorities. They could live with dog-friendly children aged 16+.

Zephy is okay with most dogs, but Buddy is less confident. They're looking to be the only dogs in the home and can't live with cats. They remain on the lead on walks and walk beautifully, enjoying short walks before heading home for a good snooze πŸ’€. They are very good in the car.

Please see their page for more photos/info and, if you feel you can offer these beautiful dogs a suitable foster home, please contact us, via the details given at the end of their page, ASAP. If you feel you could offer them the loving home they seek, but couldn't bear to part with them, we'd be very happy to hear from anyone wanting to foster with a view to adopting them permanently ✨

Meet Alpha and Troy πŸ’œ They are a 12 years old Jrt x and 13 years old Jrt who have just arrived in Oldies Club care. They will be under assessment for at least the next few weeks in their foster home in Kent. Once fully assessed and ready for rehoming a full writeup will feature on our website.
