Pole party. On Tuesday we had a fun pole exercise for Debbie and Chris with matching ponies, this drill exercise looks even better. The purpose of drill riding is to manage your control and consistency to stay in tune with your paired rider. Fantastic practice for tempo work. Working on circle sized and leg yielding between the larger and smaller circles to swap positions 🤩
Maya and Velvet having a jump lesson a couple of days ago. Velvet has been there done that and bought the tshirt and often thinks she knows better 🙈 We were working on maintaining a bouncier canter to prevent velvet from speeding up and going flat over fences, allowing for this wonderful control around some tight parts of the course 🤩 they did a fantastic job
Lola and Merry having a fantastic XC lesson on Friday 🥰 Lola is back today this time with Nala 🤩
Clear round showjumping and reduced XC hire evening. THIS FRIDAY FROM 4:30PM

I don’t know about you guys but we are super excited for the Hunter trials tomorrow 🙈. Look at the fantastic rosettes, trophies and gift vouchers up for grabs 🤩🤩🤩
Pearl on the XC course having a look at some water, a ditch and some slightly wider more solid fences than she’s used to, helping her to build confidence. She is a very brave pony 😍 please wait until the tyres for a VERY big jump 🙈😂 poor Paige
Paige and Blaze in a jump lesson with Molly. Working on canter quality and control between fences. Using the half halt and bringing her shoulders back to sit him back on his hocks before the canter transition and on landing from the fence, really helped Paige gain a smoother more controlled set of strides between fences.
Lola and Merry doing the full SJ course in their lesson with Molly today before finishing on practicing a few more complex combinations of dog legs and turn backs 🌟
Lola and Nala having a jump lesson with Molly this evening. Nala loves speed which makes linking fences together slightly challenging but Lola has learnt despite speed young Nala needed support from the leg to help her understand and be confident in the instructions with jumping the fences. They were superstars 🌟❤️

Trot pole exercise with a change of flexion (change of rein) allowing her to flex without over bending to the inside and stretching her neck and holding the poll lower to use her back more effectively.
Canter poles- to extend her stride and increase a forward thinking canter.
Merry settled very well during the exercise and began to engage better from behind and drop the head down into a more settled contact 🤩 please get in touch for info on pole clinics and lessons available at Castle Farm

Hello I’m Molly and I’m the new head girl at Castle Farm Livery and XC
I have grown up around horses and studied a diploma at Hartpury university in 2015 going on to both a BSc and MSc in equine and sport related subjects. I have managed livery yards as well as working in showjumping, dressage and racing. I have lots of experience with backing but also have schooled experienced horses whom have qualified for HOYS . I have begun my coaching journey pursuing BHS stage 1 and 2, looking at beginning my training for the coaching and stage 3 exams whilst here at Castle farm.
The highlight of my career is definitely grooming for a horse I schooled at home who qualified and jumped at HOYS in the bronze league.
Please check out the video showcasing my equine experiences and riding expertise, I will be offering coaching and riding amongst other services here at Castle Farm.
Enjoy the ride #castlefarmliverycrosscountry
