Morning everyone. I hope you’ve all been enjoying the lovely weather this last weekend. I am also sure that you are all starting to plan your holidays, which is the reason for this post.
I’ve had several calls from you lovely people enquiring about home boarding. Unfortunately I’ve decided that due to having an elderly lab, who enjoys having his home comforts to himself that this is not something I am able to offer. I am also gradually filling up with lovely dogs to walk during the day, so am out and about almost everyday for a significant part of the day. For this reason I don’t think I’d get a licence for boarding.
Please take a look at the Somerset County Council website for their list of approved home boarders.

I know there are several lovely home boarders about but I would certainly enquire and book in early.
Happy holidays everybody 😊😎🌝

Well everyone I’m delighted to be able to let you all know that from January I will be able to offer dog walks/ visits, cat visits and horse care full time. I’ve finally taken the plunge in giving up my community nursing job.
If you’re having to return to the office, worried about leaving your dog all day, then give me a call so we can chat about how I can help.
If you’re going away and don’t want to leave your cat in a cattery I’m more than happy to do home visits to feed and check on your cat.
As a horse owner I’m also able to help out with horse care if you’re going away.

A lovely walk along the bottom of Witcombe Valley Ham Hill. Stopping to take in the sights and sounds.
Just a reminder that you don’t have to go far or fast to give your dog a great walk, it is just as important to allow you dog time to sniff and pick up various scents. You can also benefit by taking time out and watch your dog sniffing, see how he / she benefits from the activity. Great mindfulness exercise for dog owners mental health too. We need to learn from our animals sometimes😊

Just let adding this information on from World Horse Welfare, if you don’t have horses you may not know, so good to share.

❗️ Important ❗️ Please do not feed horses!

We know it’s nice to see horses when we’re out walking and that you may want to feed them with what you consider a ‘treat’, but we’re urging people NOT to feed any horse without the owner’s permission as it could do more harm than good.

Here is why…
👉 Feeding horses something they aren’t used to – or even too much of something they are used to – can make them really unwell or even kill them
👉 Horses can’t vomit, so digestive problems are really dangerous for them and can easily turn into a veterinary emergency
👉 Cut grass/grass clippings should never be fed to horses and can kill them
👉 Giving food can cause fighting between individuals and result in injuries
👉 Many horses need very careful weight management to stop them developing an extremely painful disease called laminitis. More information on these topics can be found here - https://bit.ly/3r9T1XB and https://bit.ly/3rg38tN

We know lots of people get huge enjoyment from horses and want to do something nice for them. Most horses enjoy a nice scratch on the neck or withers (shoulder) so, providing the horse is friendly and the owner is happy for you to do so, you could consider giving them fuss instead of food.

Walking a clients dog yesterday evening in the cool of the evening around 8.30pm.
Just a reminder to everyone to be careful in the heat with your lovely dogs, if the pavement is too hot for your bare feet it’s too hot for paws too.
At the moment I’m not walking any dogs after 8am or before 8pm, it’s just too hot.

Lovely doggy day out today with Cadbury; Cockercombe near Bridgwater. A fantastic forestry walk. ‘Mentioned in Somerset A Dog Walkers Guide’. Just watch out for mountain bikers there were loads of them today on ban holiday Friday, but otherwise a lovely place free from bank holiday crowds😊

Hi everyone. Welcome to my new business. Please bear with me as this is my first attempt at creating a business page for my new business (technology is not my strong point)!
Currently on offer: Dog walking and / or home visits to dogs, cats and horses.
Days available for dog walking and home visits during the day currently only Mondays and Thursdays, but availability will increase with demand!
For those working shifts happy to consider out of hours walks / visits for dogs too.
I'm so excited to actually be starting up as it has been a long held dream of mine, having had the honour of living with cats for a significant part of my life, owning my own dog Cadbury since he was a puppy (he is now nearly 11) and also owning my last horse for 15 years.
I have undertaken the Canine Principles (canineprinciples.com) Dog Walking / Boarding and care diploma, and am currently studying with them for the puppy care and development diploma.
