This weekend Nala and I went to Southport to work on all things Mantrailing with a group of friends, we all want to grow and learn to be be the best we possibly can as Handlers/Teams and Instructors in this unbelievable dog sport!!

An unbelievable weekend was had, so much learning was done , talked all aspects of Mantrailing and scent, questions asked and questions answered. We had so much fun and belly laughs that we will talk about for years to come,it's impossible not to learn in this environment. What a special group of friends I have who support and encourage each other and have there backs.

Everyone's mantrailing journey is different.

Some people resonate with it straight away, others have to find the right support, many have to work extremely hard to be the best handler for their dog.

Working with these four dedicated and passionate handlers, teams and instructors made me absolutely fall in love with Mantrailing all over again.

Their passion and spark for mantrailing showed through on every trail they did.

The want to learn more and be the best teams they can be was just infectious joy.

On two full days of Mantrailing we had loads of learning moments, brilliant progression, lightbulb moments, questions answered and most of all a huge laugh.

Thank you to Neil, Nick, Amy and Chloe for a super weekend.

Beginning of November we went to the midlands to do a weekend Mantrailing workshop with Kathryn Jones from Trailing K9s and Susanne Broughton from Doghampton. It was a very very wet rural Saturday and on the Sunday we trailed in a retail park where the scent was blowing everywhere but all the dogs worked their socks off and done very well!!

Nala did very well working on intensity and delayed starts, a tough 1st door indication ( trail later hiding behind it ) a car park that had the scent blowing in numerous directions and through and underpass to finding the trail layer. At the retail park we used decoys.

Thank you to the great instructor's and also the other teams who all had superb dogs!!

Part of my journey as in instructor is to train my 2 Catahoula's and learn there trailing behaviour, because they are the same breed doesn't mean they will trail the same!! We trained both dogs with Amy who is a great instructor at PH K9 Mantrailing , training with good instructors will help me develop my skills as an instructor and also my Mantrailing journey with my 2 Catahoula's Simba & Nala.

A great fun session was had!!

It's very important to have fun 😊

Nala joined us for another progression session earlier this week. At only 6 months old she already has a really good grasp of the game!

Nala's big brother Simba is a seasoned trailer, having trailed for a couple of years already - however we have to remember that just because we have two dogs of the same breed, doesn't mean they will work similarly!

Nala's owner is learning how to read her and setting her up for success as they work together as a team to find their trail layer!

Some super work by Nala and we will see this girl again very soon for some more mantrailing fun 🐾🐶🤩
