Meet Pali

This beautiful lady was found with 5 brothers and sisters in the height of summer and covered in ticks. She's got some German Shepherd in her and is the more shy of the 4 girls. She is a dog that would thrive in a quiet home, where she gets a couple of good walks a day and spends the rest of it snoozing.

She's incredibly calm at home but can be a little nervous and will not approach people and other dogs unless she is prompted to do so - once she loves you, there is no one or anything else that matters to her.

She's spent time at pet hotels and I'm reassured that she fits right in. She's just decerning when choosing her friends. She's also the first to tend to the kittens we've rescued.

Street dogs look for comfort wherever they can find it.

I see these 3 most days and they hand around together. Both the local supermarket and some of the apartments put scraps out for them. Although this stops them from starving, the food tends to be very salty or sweet.

Whenever I can I give them good quality dog food which is not cheap here.

Meet ARIEL

The day I found her was wet and miserable. She was with her much bigger brother who was very outgoing and boisterous. Ariel was very withdrawn and had a limp. We could only take one and she seemed less likely to survive if left. She followed us home and upon checking her over we discovered open wounds to one of her paws and a serious gash to the same upper leg. She was also nursing some serious bruising to her ribs. We suspect she had been either run over or thrown from a moving car.

A visit to the vet to check for parasites was clear and all she needed was a good bath and rest.

Ariel is mixed and has the most amazing coat. It's just beautiful. She loves her walks but can suffer on a hot day. Wet and windy and she's in her element. She eats faster than any dog I've ever known but is just such a loving dog and will sit with you being stroked for hours.

She is amazing around children but will take their food 🤣

Meet JASMINE.

Jasmine was found alone, sitting in the middle of a road being used by construction traffic. A chubby little potato of no more than 4 pounds who should have still been with her mother.

Initially, apart from being very dirty, she seemed fine but several weeks later she was diagnosed with Parvo - A real puppy killer that nearly took her. She was within 24 hours of not making and lost more than half her body weight. It was touch and go, but thank you to an awesome vet and lots of love and attention, she made it.

Jasmine for sure has some golden retriever in there but we are unsure how much. She's full of love and wants to meet everyone and everything. She's an absolute goofball and so much fun.

This is Maxi and this is a very busy road.

As you can see Maxi is a Husky and it's not unusual to see what would be very expensive breeds living on the streets here in Tbilisi. Dog you would pay £000's for in the UK.

Maxi is one of the lucky street dogs. He hangs around the local grocers and they feed him. Being a Husky, he's able to cope during the winters too!

He's also good with other dogs and people so animal control leave him alone.

This is LEMON. Her story....

Whilst walking one of my other rescues Pali, she suddenly froze. This is not unusual, she's very sensitive and strange noises and smells will stop her in her tracks.

She then proceeded to pull me over to a box at the side of the road. In that box were LEMON and her two sisters. It was December and it was very cold.

I suspect, that whoever dumped them knew I walked that route 3 times per day. Within an hour, one sister went to a Georgian family. Some friends really wanted one of them but their landlord was not having it - a few weeks later I got a message they were coming over. LIME, is now Luna and living like a queen.

Lemon is now fully grown and a dog that loves life.

But she's looking for a home in the UK that is safe from the dangers of the streets of Tbilisi in Georgia.
