Heartworm Prevention for Dogs ❤️🐶

Heartworms are parasites transmitted by mosquito bites that can cause severe health issues for dogs, including lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs.

Prevention is the best way to protect your dog from this dangerous disease.

Heartworm medication is safe, easy, and effective when given monthly. Even dogs that stay indoors should be on preventative medication, since mosquitoes can still make their way inside.

-Signs & Symptoms
Signs of heartworm disease can include coughing, fatigue, reduced appetite, and weight loss in dogs. However, some dogs may show no symptoms until the disease becomes advanced. This is why prevention is so important!

At East Legon Veterinary Centre, we recommend keeping your dog on heartworm preventative year-round. Our vets can do a simple blood test to check if your dog is already infected and prescribe treatment if needed.
