Remembering Nobel Peace Laureate and anti-apartheid activist Desmond Tutu, who emphasized the critical need to advocate for other animals, who are overlooked and powerless in the face of injustice.

He urged us to be mindful of the interests of other animals and speak out loudly against their oppression, ensuring that their voices are heard and respected.

Tutu’s legacy serves as a reminder of the interconnectedness of all life and the importance of standing up against violence and oppression in all its forms.

BREAKING: Osu becomes the first Traditional area to endorse the Plant Based Treaty👏🏾

The Plant Based Treaty team paid a courtesy visit to Nuumo Noi Osikan III (Osu Nadu Klottey Wulomo), the Acting Chief of the Osu Traditional Area, & Nii Samuah Klantse I (Osu Kaajano Mantse ), to discuss the Plant Based Treaty initiative. The esteemed Chiefs graciously endorsed the initiative as a vital strategy to combat the climate crisis.

The Osu Traditional Area, nestled in Ghana's Greater Accra Region, is a revered kingdom steeped in history and culture. This ancient traditional area is a treasure trove of rich heritage, vibrant festivals, and timeless customs. As a hub of cultural significance, Osu continues to thrive, nurturing the well-being of its people and contributing to Ghana's cultural landscape.

Dexter Scott King, the second son of civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, believed deeply in the transformative power of veganism.

His advocacy for compassion extended beyond human rights, embracing a lifestyle that respected ALL sentient beings, including nonhuman animals.

His passing on January 22, 2024, marked the loss of a visionary who not only carried on his parents’ legacy but also contributed uniquely to the world through his advocacy for a more peaceful and harmonious existence.

May his commitment to compassion and nonviolence continue to inspire us all. ❤️

While celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, we must remember that while he was alive and fighting against social injustice, he was widely hated, criminalized, designated an extremist, incarcerated, and eventually murdered because of his unrelenting and uncompromising struggle for justice and equity. ⁠

Today we honour MLK by remembering his radical advocacy and thanking everyone who is following the path set by him in dismantling oppression!
