Look up above your horse, do not look down, you must feel what is happening underneath you.
Never ride with your hands too low. The upper part of your arm must descend vertically.
From the elbow, you must create a straight line, passing through the forearm and the rein towards the horse's mouth.
A horse that is not straight can never hold its head low. Only a straightened horse can come on the bit and lower its head.
Your inside hand can never be lower than the outside hand. In a turn or on a volte, your inside hand will always be higher than the outside hand.
Never compensate for your horse's asymmetry with your weight. If the horse leans inwards, create counter-bend by moving the reins and never put your weight to the outside: this could cause tremendous tension in the horse's back. Always keep your weight inside the bend.
The horse must always be in impulsion, it must want to move forward. Keep the horse responsive to the aids.
Reward your horse every time it works well. Rewards make the horse great and proud.
'All your actions towards the horse must be determined by love and a sense of responsibility'.
"These advices aim to promote a respectful riding style, attentive to the subtle communication between the rider and the horse, and to foster the well-being and development of the relationship between the two partners."
