Today we said farewell to Chico a year after we said farewell to his beautiful human.

Chico was a mischievous, notorious boy who left his mark (sometimes literally!) On those he met. Looking like the big bad wolf from a fairy tale he was nevertheless a lover of cuddles and was permanently hungry.

He was part of our family for the past year and we will miss him

The ultimate blessing and curse of caring for a beautiful soul is losing them

Introducing Wolfie....

Wolfie is an approximately 18 month old Belgian shepherd cross who spent his early life chained up.

A wonderful person/charity in Lefkada contacted me about rehabilitation and he has been with me for 3 weeks. In this time he has spent time with numerous dogs and there has been no issues whatsoever

Wolfie is an extremely loyal and affectionate dog.
He would suit an active individual or couple with some dog experience.

He spent his life on a chain but is capable of building strong bonds very quickly.

He is highly intelligent and would be a wonderful life companion.

If you're contacting from abroad you can come and stay at my home for a few days and I will help you get to know him

Waar gaat deze podcast over⁉️

Jonathan (Jon) is de oprichter van The Positive Pet Academy, waar hij werkt met honden en hun eigenaren op een unieke manier. Daarnaast is hij muzikant en yogaleraar. In 2016 emigreerde hij vanuit Engeland naar het eiland Rhodos in Griekenland waar ik (Birgit) hem in 2019 voor het eerst ontmoette. ⁠

Jon vertelt dat hij besloot zijn leven en carrière om te gooien toen hij ontwaakte door een bijzondere situatie. Hij concludeerde dat hij “too comfortable” werd en zocht naar een andere manier van leven. ⁠

Jon won onlangs als outsider een prijs voor zijn positieve bijdrage aan het Griekse onderwijssysteem. Dit is erg bijzonder omdat in het begin geen Griek maar iets wilde weten van zijn methodes met betrekking tot de omgang met dieren.⁠

Zijn verhaal kan inspirerend zijn als jij ook een verandering wilt maken of het gevoel hebt dat je te comfortabel, maar niet gelukkig bent met je leven. 😕⁠

Following award success and the launch of our new course it was back to reality and pack training in the stunning medieval moat that surrounds Rhodes Old Town. This video contains footage of some seriously scary dogs but at the Positive Pet Academy we don't discriminate!! None other than a Cane Corso, a Dogo Argentino/Pitbull cross (gulp!!!) and a GSD/Malinois cross!! Of course I post this to illustrate how our preconceptions often teach us a lot about prejudice and instead of looking for the character of the individual dog people often focus on the breed.
