What are the dangers involved when your phone number is shown on the identity of your pet?

When designing HeyPet Identities, our research showed that your phone number on your pet's identity / badge is acting in a similar manner as giving your house key to anyone, you are urging them to take it away from you.

Anyone who takes away your pet and identifying you through your phone number gains the advantage of being able to track you, learn about your financial situation, your lifestyle and adapt their finders fee demands to these.

Upon meeting a wandering pet the following thoughts require immediate answers:

Is it wandering near its home?

Is this a normal behavior after which it returns home?

Is the owner somewhere close?

Is it lost or has it been abandoned?

If I decide to keep it, until I am able to find its guardian, what his behaviour will be towards other animals and people, what about any medications that he/she requires?

If someone contacts me how will I know that he or she is really the rightful guardian?

The answer to all these questions is given promptly if a pet wears a HeyPet ID or HeyPet Tag.

Upon scanning a HeyPet ID or HeyPet Tag of a pet declared as LOST on the HeyPet online portal we are immediately presented with the following information:

Characteristics
Behavior towards animals and humans
Habits
Medication
Allergies

Completion of a simple form is required for the registered pet owner to be notified by SMS of our details and he will contact us to make arrangments for collection.

Συναντώντας ένα κατοικίδιο που περιφέρεται, μας δημιουργούνται οι εξής απορίες:

Βρίσκεται κάπου κοντά στο σπίτι του και απλά συνηθίζει να τριγυρνά, επιστρέφοντας πάντα σε αυτό; Μήπως ο κηδεμόνας του είναι κάπου κοντά;
