Introduction - Who We Are

Zante Strays is the name given to a group of active people working together with a passion for animals on the island of Zakynthos, Greece. We are all volunteers using our own resources with absolutely no funding from any government sources. We are a registered Non Profit Organisation in Greece and also a registered UK Charity with the Charity Commission of England and Wa

We do raise funds for our cause and have a great number of supporters who believe in what we do. The majority of these supporters are located in the United Kingdom with others in Germany, Holland and other places in Europe. Many of our supporters have visited Greece and have been appalled at the cruelty and neglect of animals there. We are determined to make a difference on our magnificent island and as we have no overheads and pay no salaries (all services are given free by volunteers), so we are able to use every penny collected for the suffering animals in Zakynthos Greece. Freya for Adoption
Freya was living with her brother in a field with her stray mum, surrounded by ditches full of water. They were in danger of drowning.
Freya is a very sweet girl, still a bit insecure but she is getting better by the day. She loves to play with her brother and the other pups.

Falcon was living with his sister in a field with his stray mum, surrounded by ditches full of water. They were in danger of drowning.
Falcon is a very sweet boy who loves to play with his sister and the other pups

🐶 Born aprox 14-10-2024.
He will become a big boy when fully grown.

👋 Meet Milly 💔 She was dumped outside the shelter with her siblings in a box one morning when some of our volunteers arrived. 🐾 Milly is the brindle female of the litter. They are very placid puppies with loving and playful characters. They are very good with other dogs and confident with people. They would make wonderful additions to a family. We estimate they will be medium in size when fully grown. 🐶 Born 15/07/2024 🏡 Can live with children 💌 Please share or contact us if you think you can offer her a loving home

👋 Meet Vogart 💔 He was a found inside someones back garden here in Zakynthos. The people cared for him for a while but sadly could not keep him so they asked us for help. 🐾 Vogart is a young and beautiful springer spaniel, he has lots of energy and loves to be with people. He is confident, smart and would be easily trained. He is great with other dogs and likes to play and hunt. 👋 Meet Robbie 💔 He was found on the road by tourists at the end of the season. They said he was alone and scared so they brought him to the shelter. 🐾 Robbie has a big character, he is a very confident and playful boy. He loves his toys and lots of cuddles. Robbie loves other dogs and is ok with cats. He is a beautiful tri coloured mixed breed. 👋 Meet Diana 💔 This poor girl was found hit by a car and left there. Her leg is an old injury that did not receive treatment so never healed and she also had pellets in her body. 🐾 Diana is a very loving old girl and still has a lot of energy. She is a strong dog and actually likes her walks even with her limp. She is also happy to be on a comfy bed getting gentle cuddles. She doesn't like too much fuss from other dogs and prefers to be on her own or with humans. She is always very excited to see the volunteers and leans in for love with a smile on her face. 💊 Nerve damaged to the affected limb is getting better with treatment and time but we can not say for sure if it will be ever again perfect. There is potential of improvement and so her treatment must go on. 🐶 Born 01-07-2015 ⚖️ 20 kg 🐱 Cat test on request 🐕 Mixed breed 💌 Please share or contact us if you think you can offer her a loving home
