Had to make a supermarket run today to pick up enough wet food to keep us going as I didn't get enough from Farma when I went last week.
These 18 cans are enough for 3 meals for the gang. I'll have to figure out how to get more later. Pension day not til Wednesday next week so still have another 5 days to provide for. I'm busy with the local charity theatre production that I'm performing in for the next few nights so just don't have time to go into town to Farma til next week.

He's giving his mum the look he gives when she's off to work for the day. "I'll just stay here, entertain myself and sleep a lot!"
As I said to his mum Anne, I still look for him at the kitchen window here after so many years but I'm so glad he's in his wonderful forever home instead.
He had his first vet visit and it went really well :-)

The remaining 6 kittens are out in the open more since Cookie left for his forever home. Cookie was certainly a big presence here, and it's so noticeable he's not around anymore.
Last night, Pixel came for lots of petting and cuddles in bed, which was lovely. She couldn't get near me when Cookie was here! Tuxie always comes for his attention at bedtime; he's relentless. Both of these kitties are the most adoptable inside with me now, and they really need to be home cats. I can't see them living wild.
Fingers crossed homes materialise for them.

Rest in peace, dear Mowgli.
I've just gotten back from my nearby neighbors Lucy and Simon's, where Mowgli has been laid to rest in the paddock at the rear of their property by a tree.
Lucy had cared for Mowgli for a long while, along with other cats that had previously been in the care of their elderly Greek neighbor.
About 3 years ago, the Greek gentleman passed away; Lucy took on the care of his kitties; about 16 of them them! At that time, I supported her with loan of carriers, advice, encouragement, and anything else I could.
Lucy has done a fabulous job with her colony over time, getting them all sterilised and into the best possible health and, of course, feeding them day in, day out.
Like me, she has found that sterilization is the gift that keeps on giving as she has had no new births to deal with in some time.
Mowgli was one of her gang. He disappeared one day from Lucy's, and she didn't see him again until I posted that he'd turned up here, and I didn't know where he'd come from.
Like a lot of cats, he took off when he started to feel himself deteriorating. He found his way to me at the end and I'm glad he did. I want to recognize and thank Lucy for all she did for him for all the time he was with her. It feels so right that I have returned him to the earth in his old 'hood.

The first photo from Cookie who is now installed on the yacht with his new family, although he doesn't know he's on water yet....
Here he is with mum Ella, who was very excited about deciding on Cookie. So far, so good. He is relaxed and purring and being fussed over. Meanwhile, the kids are working out who will get to sleep with him when he's settled in, lol 😆

I'm sitting here with Mowgli while the other kittens entertain themselves around me.... but someone is missing, and I'm still dabbing my eyes at thought he has left the nest.
Cookie has just been adopted and has gone home with his new family. A lovely Ukranian couple with 2 young children who have a lot of experience with cats.
Cookie will be living on a yacht to begin with...
His new parents will be taking him to the vet first thing. His records are there. I had a microchip put in and had his vaccinations started before Christmas, and then things got crazy, so he still needs a second dose.
I'll be helping out with getting a passport sorted when they go, but this sweet young family plan to be around Lefkada for 3 months at least.
They've promised to keep me posted and send photos. They understand because of their experience with cats that he needs time to settle in and adjust to his new living situation.
It's hard to let Cookie go but I know this family will do their very best for him.

Just giving him all the comfort I can.....Vet tomorrow.

This beautiful boy has spent a lot of his time hiding while he's been here, but he's slowly coming out of himself and becoming less skittish.
He was a sick street cat taken to the vet by someone who couldn't take him in for whatever reason and had nowhere to go after getting well enough to be discharged. The vet clinic was struggling with space for new admissions and can't care for cats long term once they are well enough to leave.
So.... here he is with me. I have another couple of long-term cats here that came from the vet in the same way, Caramella and Sabrina.
He was recently sterilised, and he's now in good health, having recovered from colds and ringworm. I think he would blossom in a forever home with someone patient who would give him time to adjust and bond.
He is used to being inside but will soon be released outside to the big mob if he doesn't find a forever home.

This is just wonderful! Another lucky kitty living in the lap of love. This is just what Mitzi needed. To get away from the other cats here that intimidated her and live in a loving space where she could finally relax and not have to be on guard all the time. German life is working out so well for her :-)

George is clearly in love with his mum, Lisa. The good life continues for him in the Netherlands 😀

By the way, George has another new fluffy toy. It's wonderful to see him so playful in his new home :-)

Mitzi and Boop are doing really well in their new home. After weeks of isolation here, they are enjoying sleeping on their mum's bed and getting lots of petting. Mitzi in particular is doing great. She is the shyer of the two and can be very timid even with people she knows so I'm thrilled that she is looking so relaxed and happy, enjoying a pat from her mum :-)

The nest is just a bit emptier....

George is another little treasure that is leaving when Kit does in the first week of Feb. I'm glad they are going on the same trip because they can travel in the same enclosure together on the van and be travel buddies. George is going as far as Amsterdam and Kit will continue on to Antwerp. George has come a long way while he's been here. He arrived with a very stubborn respiratory infection that has taken months to get over, but he's doing so well now, and he's grown and put on weight. He's playful, affectionate, and a very happy, confident little guy. I'm so excited for him to finally get to his forever family :-)

Update! Apologies for my state .....

Can you help? Mitzi and Boop are off to the vet for tests with Charli while I'm on the sick list again. Their trip to their forever home in Germany has been postponed until we can get them sorted.

In a little village called Rahi in the hinterland of Nidri on the island of Lefkas in north western Greece is one of many safety nets for homeless hungry felines. Greece is full of them as well as many kind hearted folk who tend to them. This page chronicles the adventures and misadventrues and the daily lives of just one of those kitty communities.
