Having lived through a rainy season, insects seem to grow right out of the ground, walls, plants. Read carefully all insecticides on the market so wood ants, maribunta, Chasey, red ants, bees, spiders etc can all be addressed. So many things on the market.

My family were farmers and my father was a rice farmer until the early 80's when he abandoned his fields. I remember as a teenager the lush rice fields golden with full heads of ripened rice swaying in the wind blowing off the Canje Creek. I remember the villages along West Canje on the way to the rice farm and the lazy summer days in the farm house. The lunches were always so much better, smoky from the outside fireside and the butterflies filling the sandy roads as dusk falls on the land. Hibiscus Farm is not about the flowers, although there are about 20 species growing, its about the images I carry from my childhood. We picked Hibiscus flowers to take to the temples and to use in prayers. My love for these flowers remind me of a time when as children we knew not what our destiny were. It was a time of innocence. A time of play, and a time of leisure. Our farm brings back that nostalgia and gives you a moment in time that stands still.
