When you finally welcome your 10 week old puppies, please keep this picture in mind. Their bones ain't even touching yet. They walk so beautifully with big, flexible legs and bench movements because their joints are made up entirely of cartilage, muscles, tendons and ligaments covered with skin. Nothing is well adjusted or has real grip yet.

When you make them run excessively or don't limit their exercise to prevent them from overdoing during that time, you're not giving them the chance to grow properly. Every big jump or bounce and excited run creates bone-breaking impacts.
In reasonable quantities, this is not problematic and normal wear and tear will do.

But when you let the puppy jump off the couch or bed, take him for long walks, you damage this joint in training. When you let the puppy move on slippery tiles, you damage the joint.

You only get once to make them grow up. A well built body is something that comes from excellent upbringing and good education. BOTH , not just one

Once you’re an adult, you’ll have the rest of your life to spend playing and engaging in high-impact exercises. So keep him calm while he is still young and give him the gift that can only be given once.

I see so many people out there Price shopping for a puppy! Most people are looking as cheap as they can find and they do not realize that not all German Shepherds are the same. Not all German Shepherds are bred for the same purpose! 10-16 years is a long time to spend wishing you would have paid a little more and got what you really wanted.
Most people who want a German Shepherd want a dog that will also protect the home and family while still being a great family dog. What they don't realize is there are so many people out there just putting two dogs together to make puppies that should not be bred. They will tell you that the dog is protective if that is what you tell them you want but they cannot show you this or they think that just because their dog barks and growls at strangers that it will protect. A dog that growls is a dog that is uncertain. It feels uneasy. it is growling because it is scared. Will that dog bite? Yes it very well could out of fear but nine times out of 10 it will turn tail and go the other direction because it is scared.
One dog here is bred for looks and one dog is bred for police or protection or even top sport.
Not all dogs bred for sports will protect! In the 1980s there was a split between working dogs and show dogs in the German Shepherds and the breed became two separate lines. There is also becoming a split between working lines and Sport lines and a lot of people do not want to admit this. Yes there are some very top sport dogs out there that can do it all. Top sport or top Police work. Not all top sport dogs can be police dogs and not all top police dogs can do sport.
Most American lines are bred for a look. Either a particular color or big size or both with very little regard to temperament and nerve or defense.
Typically trainers use the word defense for protection rather than aggression but strong aggression in the protection is desired for certain dogs while it is looked down upon for sport dogs.
The chances of finding a well-bred dog for $80 k with registration papers and breeding rights is pretty slim. Finding one that is Top bred for that kind of a price is unheard of.

The difference between a guard dog and protection dog:

Protection dogs are usually socialized so that they can safely interact with friends, kids, neighbors, and family members. On the other hand, guard dogs are not trained to be social animals. They are not appropriate for keeping as a pet and tend to have dominant personalities.

A guard dog’s job is to deter potential threats; a protection dog’s job is to defend against actual threats. Guard dogs are typically bred and trained to be territorial and aggressive towards anyone who might pose a threat, whether that person is an intruder or just someone the dog doesn’t know. Protection dogs, on the other hand, are typically bred and trained to be more friendly and approachable so that they can better assess and neutralize any threats.
