【健康的貓貓是乾鼻子OR 濕鼻子?】

大家都知道健康的狗狗鼻子是濕潤的, 但貓貓呢?

Dr Howe 解釋一般貓貓的鼻子是涼爽微濕的, 並應該沒有可見的分泌物。而且當貓貓呼吸時，空氣應該從兩個鼻孔平均流動。貓鼻子上的濕氣有可能係由汗水組成，這有助貓們保持涼爽。貓貓不似人類會全身出汗，所以在調節體溫時，貓鼻子起著重要的作用。

貓鼻子上的濕氣, 可以增強貓貓的嗅覺，因為濕氣會幫助保持氣味的粒子，因此貓貓可以更清楚地聞及分辨氣味。

但Dr Howe 補充說, 健康的貓貓也非絕對只有微濕的鼻子。一隻健康的貓貓有可能慣常是乾鼻子, 也有可能慣常是微濕。如果貓貓一向也是乾爽的, 但出現不正常的濕度, 也伴隨著其他症狀, 就可能代表貓貓身體出現一點狀況, 需多加留意觀察。相反如果貓貓的鼻子一向是微濕的, 突然乾燥起來, 可能是貓貓發燒了或出現脫水狀態。

貓貓鼻子的顏色 (NOSE LEATHER)是跟毛色相配, 深色鼻子的貓貓比較難看出顏色深淺, 但如果是粉紅鼻子的貓貓, 突然鼻子不再紅潤而變得蒼白, 可能是出現貧血狀況。如果貓貓鼻子出現微黃色調, 或貓貓過度舔鼻子,也代表貓貓身體狀況出現問題, 需要帶去獸醫檢查。

健康的貓鼻子一天24小時內也可能出現乾濕之間變化, 如果鼻子出現不尋常的情況多於3 天, 就需要找出原因, 帶貓貓去獸醫檢查了。

【Audrey - Beef & Rabbit 貓貓牛肉兔肉配方】

究竟貓貓同狗狗會唔會對人類敏感?

成日聽到身邊有人對貓貓或狗狗敏感, 全世界大約10％到20％的人對家庭寵物表現出一些過敏症狀。但係你有無想過相反的可能性？你的貓或狗會對你或對人類過敏嗎？

皮膚科醫生道格拉斯·德波爾（Douglas Deboer）的回答是：有可能的。”根據一些研究和實驗表明，寵物確實可能會對我們的人類過敏，即使是極為罕見。

皮膚病學家沃伊諾 Elia Tait Wojno解釋說，對狗或貓的過敏反應通常是在個人對寵物的皮屑 (dander) 引起的，因此，如狗或貓對人過敏的情況下，都是由人的皮屑 (human dander)引起.

已經研究對這些家庭寵物進行了過敏測試，這些測試結果大多數都是陰性的, 大約只有低於2％是陽性, 可以証明家庭寵物是會對人類皮屑有過敏反應。

而且也有證據表明，您家裡的貓狗可能彼此過敏。有些貓容易出現過敏性哮喘症狀，對狗狗表現過敏反應。

沃伊諾說，就像人類對狗和貓過敏一樣，研究人員對此知得甚少, 希望能夠進行進一步的研究，以揭示更多有關家庭寵物中過敏反應, 才能更有效地學習如何治療這些過敏症.
