Not update for Girlie quite a while!

This tiny girl went to forever home on April 6th when she was more stable at 8 months old though just weighted 1kg.
She is now staying with auntie Lilith, another Bombay from Chapter too.
Thanks Girlie’s human mom who loves her so much!
Glad that Girlie started to feed herself after 6 days arrival.

Ready to meet the ultimate companion cat? The Burmese loves being with, playing with, and keeping their people entertained. They are often known as velcro cats, loving to be physically close to their person. In fact, if there’s an empty lap - a Burmese will likely fill it shortly.

The Burmese has a coat that is short and close-lying with a very silky texture. Their large, expressive eyes radiate an innocence that will seduce you, and they have an irresistible appeal that has won over many a person who thought he didn’t like cats. They need very little grooming, usually requiring only some daily petting.

Meet the Breed | Bombay

Ready to own a miniature panther of your own? The Bombay is a svelte black cat with copper penny eyes known affectionately as the parlor panther. These cats are of medium length with a rounded head and short muzzle, all dressed up in a short, flat, gleaming, black-to-the-roots coat that accentuates its rippling muscular form.

The Bombay is a dog, a cat, and a monkey all rolled into one mischievous package. They can be leash trained, and most enjoy playing “fetch” and are fond of inventing new ways to entertain themselves and the humans with whom they live. Bombays are congenial, outgoing and make intelligent, affectionate companions. They adapt well to busy lifestyles and usually get along with children, elders and other pets.

「我希望擁有一隻豹!」
驟眼看來，孟買貓或許會被誤以為是一頭迷你小黑豹。
正正是創立這品種的美國資 深貓隻繁殖者 Ms. Niki Horner 的原意。她希望能夠繁殖出像小黑豹般有著獨特外表而又溫馴的黑貓，因印度黑豹帶出的靈感，所以 Ms. Horner 便以印度首都孟買命名這品種。

孟買貓是雜交而成，由兩款早已確立的短毛貓品種特徵裡，糅合成獨有的第三款外貌，雖然創造品種的目的是要有野豹一樣的外表，但實際上孟買貓絲毫沒有野獸的血統基因。

1958 年 Ms. Horner 開始挑選了一隻雄性銅色眼睛的黑色美國短毛貓與一隻雌性超級冠軍名銜的深褐色緬甸貓進行品種繁殖，經過長時間從 族系 (line breeding) 篩選跟異系繁殖（outcrosses) 穩定地培育出與眾不同的黑貓。直至現時繁殖規定上，黑色美國短毛貓與深褐色緬甸貓仍然許可參與孟買貓的異系繁殖。

經過了18 年的歷程，孟買貓終於能夠在 1976 年正式晉身美 國愛貓者協會 (CFA) 冠 軍賽 Championship。黑亮發光的披毛加上燦爛金銅色的眼睛，擁有攝人魅力，吸引了觀眾、參賽者和公眾注意，儘管數量不多，但一直以來都能在大型賽事中贏一席位! 尤以 2004 年孟 買貓 Colin Powell 更歷史性羸取了 CFA 國家冠軍(National Winner) 第一名!

一直以來都有這說法：如果你想養一隻狗、一隻貓或一隻猴子，孟買貓便是他們的混合體！稍加訓練就可以拖帶出行和玩拋接遊戲，也喜歡自我發掘一些新玩意來娛己娛人。孟買貓善於交際、性格外向、聰明和深愛同伴，適應忙碌的節奏，也善於跟小孩、長者和其他寵物相處。

整體而言，孟買貓糅合了美國短毛貓的天性隨和與及緬甸貓善於交際、好奇和貼人的品種特性。除了顏色以外，孟買貓和緬甸貓的標準很相近。緬甸貓有着沉重而結實的身材， 而孟買貓的身型則較中等，不太沉實又不流於高瘦，外表相對牠的表親緬甸貓稍為輕盈，孟買貓的頭形渾圓、鼻口部份較短但不過於扁平。

孟買貓的披毛是這品種最具代表性的特徵，烏黑得發亮的貼身短毛更凸顯出全身肌肉線條，加上閃亮奪目的金至銅色眼睛，難怪在品種評審標準中，其披毛（長度、毛質和緊貼度）與及顏色（披毛和眼睛顏色）佔了整體分數的 50%，足見兩者的代表性，也引証了為何孟買貓被形容為「穿着漆皮、眼睛像新銅幣的小伙子」!

繁殖者分享：
# 性格：友善隨和、外向、聰明，善於用聲音表達要求，對主人專注、互動；遺傳了表親緬甸貓的貼 ‘人性格，喜歡躺在主人大腿上，是出名的 大腿 ’貓 （lap cat）；適應力強，容易融入兒童、長者或有其他寵物的家庭。

# 護理：由於披毛祗有一層，掉毛量極少，不會打結，而日常護理非常簡單，主人為貓兒按摩摸摸披毛，死毛便已隨之褪去，不用刻意每日梳毛或頻密沖涼，祇要維持日常一般臉部護理，以扭乾的溫水毛巾為貓貓抹身保持清潔，每星期剪指甲、再用扁形蚤梳理順披毛便已經足夠，如有需要，大概每半年沖涼，適合繁忙的都市人生活。

品種小貼士：
# 孟買貓身上光亮的黑毛是有賴其血統遺傳特質，不需特別護理，然而保持均衡飲食和健康狀態也非常重要，正如人類頭髮的柔順光澤，都是由內而外反映著我們身體狀況。
# 避免長期暴晒於陽光下，光亮黑毛會變啡及暗啞。
# 孟買貓有著意想不到的實際重量（俗稱墜手），屬於肌肉型，跳躍力強，需要適量運動。
# 孟買貓成長期比較慢，一般至兩歲才完全成熟，在四至八個月大是屬於尶尬期，長相和身型都不算討好，過渡至一歲左右逐漸成長，甚或令人刮目相看，故有「醜小鴨」的稱號。
