Look at this adorable scruff-a-muffin! Cora Byrd is a very cute, 1 year old, 30 lb terrier mix. She found herself in lock-up with no way out - which just goes to show that cute/beautiful dogs end up at the shelter all the time. We took one look at this girl, and we knew she didn’t belong in the shelter so we made Cora Byrd an Angel! This sweetie will need to be vetted and spayed which will cost about $350. If you can donate any amount to this beautiful girl, click that donate button and choose Cora Byrd from the drop down menu. Share her story with all your friends, and like/comment on her post to make sure it’s seen by lots of people. Thank you Angels!

6 MAINE COONES FOUND STRAY! THEY NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

Who in their right mind would put these beauties out to fend for themselves?
Morrigan, Amren, Elain, Cassian, Feyre and Nesta were matted and very thin. Not a good recipe for them to be outside in the recent Atlanta polar freeze. There was nearly a week of highs in the 20s and nights near zero windchill. Fortunately, they were found in time and brought to a shelter. There they were out of the weather, had food and water. Angels was contacted when stray hold was up and no one came for them. They have been picked up today and taken to our vet.

Maine Coones are beautiful cats and make wonderful pet, but their coats need to be maintained and kept combed out. Not a cat for someone not willing and able to do the work. They are ages 6 months to 1.5 years and will soon go to fosters to recuperate and be back to their full glory.

Look at this blue eyed beauty with eyes the color of the sky! Millicent Bella and her sweet owner were displaced right before all the freezing temps and winter storms came through. Her owner knew that living in a car was not in this sweet girl’s best interest so she selflessly decided to surrender Millicent Bella to us to find her a wonderful foster and then forever home. Millicent Bella is a 3 year old Husky mix who gets along with all people, dogs and cats. She is a gorgeous girl who will be checked out at the vet, spayed, and brought up to date on all shots. If you can donate towards this girl’s care, we would appreciate it. You can click on the donate button and choose Millicent Bella from the drop down. Please also share this beauty’s post with all your friends, and like/comment on her post. Thank you Angels!

Bobo Leon is just shy of turning nine months old. His story is one of incredible determination and fate, a story that almost ended tragically.

With his puppy curiosity and an intense desire to make friends, Bobo was struggling being alone in a backyard, not getting any attention. He learned that his backyard fence was not secure so he regularly let himself out to explore. He was often seen trying to navigate a highly trafficked and busy street.

It was on that street that Bobo caught the attention of an Angels Rescue volunteer. She stopped and took him back to his home. Then she did it again the next day. And again. And again. He kept getting out of his yard.

This past Saturday night, our worst fear happened. Bobo got out around 7pm and got hit by a car. Our volunteer rushed to him but by the time she got to the accident scene, Bobo had limped away and hid. It took our volunteer and her husband two hours to find him. Bobo was in pain because his hip was dislocated and he had a laceration on his foot.

Bobo needed emergency care and because of the cost, the owner surrendered him right then. Our volunteer rushed him to our emergency vet partner, where she stayed with him until 8am the next morning. They tried to get his hip back in place manually, under sedation, but it wasn’t successful.

Bobo Leon is going to need surgery. We have a surgery appointment scheduled for him this week.

We are so grateful that Bobo is going to be okay and will go on to live a safe, happy and full life. We’re especially grateful to our volunteer who saved him. Bobo is the sweetest, most deserving boy. He loves everybody and gives the best hugs.

We need help, friends. Bobo’s emergency visit and surgery will cost around $3000. Please share and comment on this post. We need as many people to see it as possible. And if you can, please donate to help us raise the funds to cover Bobo Leon’s surgery.

Sweet Orly was in a real bind. This lovely girl suffered an injury which caused her to have a very large, open wound. She was in a shelter, but the shelter staff knew that getting Orly out of the shelter was critical. She needed to be out of the shelter - away from any germs - and she needed to be seen at a vet. We posted for a special Angel for this girl and a special Angel responded. Without hesitation, our Angel agreed to foster Orly so that she could get the treatment she needed, and she gave her a wonderful name too which means “my light." And thanks to our amazing intake vets, she is receiving the best care although they discovered that Orly was also heartworm positive. Now this sweet 3 year old Blue Heeler Mix is in need of funds to cover her wound care and heartworm treatment - neither of which are cheap. Remember Angel Nation, we rely on fosters and donations to help us rescue dogs - healthy or injured. If you would like to help us on our mission to help more wonderful dogs like Orly by fostering, please call us at 770-835-5844 or email us at [email protected]. If you can donate to her care, click the donate button and choose Orly from the drop down. You can also help this sweet baby by liking and commenting on her post and sharing it with all of your friends and contacts. Orly thanks you and we thank you!

😔Can you imagine seeing this tiny puppy, wandering around all alone? When you scoop her up, wanting nothing more than to get her safety, you notice her little sweater is in tatters. You would immediately think someone is missing her, and she got out of her home by mistake. Somebody took the time to put that little sweater on her, so she must be loved.

Lulu Adira was found alone in the cold, just like her picture. She was taken to the shelter and the search began for her owners, but nobody ever came for her. Was she thrown out? How could this little girl be allowed to wander from her home and nobody come to look for her? It’s unfathomable.

She was so sad. She wouldn’t eat. She had diarrhea. She was tested for parvo, a serious illness that can be a death sentence for puppies. Thank goodness that test was negative.

Once she was out of the shelter and safe in our care, Lulu Adira ate like a hungry puppy should. She began playing with toys, chewing bones, and interacting with other dogs. Lulu Adira was so frightened in the shelter that she was completely shut down but now she is thriving! Considering how she was found, she is mostly healthy, except for a urinary tract infection. She is now on antibiotics, still needs her remaining puppy vaccinations, and we will make sure she is spayed.

Let Lulu Adira know you are thinking of her by sharing her story and commenting below. If you are able, you can donate towards her care. No donation is too small.

Thank you so much for caring about our precious, Lulu Adira. ❤

🚨 URGENT: CHIHUAHUA HOARDING CASE🚨
Last night, we stepped up for 9 terrified Chihuahua mixes who survived unimaginable neglect. They were part of a horrific hoarding case in Murray County, GA, where *70 dogs* were found living in deplorable conditions— and desperate for help.

A delivery driver made a heartbreaking discovery: 13 dogs DEAD in the yard. Thanks to law enforcement intervention, the surviving dogs were rushed to the shelter, and the "owner" was arrested.

Right now, our 9 rescued dogs are on their way to the vet, who graciously stayed open late to help us. We don’t yet know the full extent of their medical needs, but we do know they will need extensive care—and we can’t do it alone.

🐾 Why only 9? We want to save more, but we need Atlanta-area foster homes. We don't have a facility. Every dog we can pull means one less left behind, waiting for hope. Please, open your heart and home—apply to foster today.

💔 Their vet care will be costly, and we need your support to ensure they get everything they need to recover. Every donation, big or small, will make a difference.

Blushing Star is a cheerful, spirited pup on the hunt for her forever home or a loving foster! This gorgeous 7-year-old mix, weighing in at 68 pounds, has a zest for life that will brighten your days. She's the perfect blend of Shepherd and maybe Black Mouth Cur, but one thing's for sure—she's all heart.

Blushing Star enjoys playtime, fetch, and snuggling up for some quiet moments. She’s a devoted companion who’s eager to be your one and only pet! While she enjoys staying active, she’d do best with an experienced owner who can guide her on walks and provide the structure she needs to thrive. Best of all, her adoption fee has been generously sponsored by an AAU volunteer, making it even easier for her to find her perfect match!

To apply to foster or adopt this sweetheart visit https://angelsrescue.org/ or email [email protected] with questions.

Saving a older kitty who sure didn't have a chance is perfect for today.

From Kitty Coretta: Today you honor one of the greatest men of all time-Martin Luthur King Jr. It is his day. I feel so honored to be called Coretta Scott King. I think he and his wife would be pleased to see an underdog (underkitty) getting another chance. I have spent too long in a shelter. This shelter is filled with dogs and cats who all are deserving another chance. Many feel hopeless.

Martin Luther King once said:

"We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope."

The shelter was worried because I am older and very, very thin, but hope won out and I will be one of the lucky ones, thanks to your donations, prayers and Angels Among Us.

I still have some life left ahead of me. Maybe when I get in my foster home, I will put on weight and look like a fluffy Maine c**n mix.

I humbly ask that today you make a donation so that this old, grateful girl gets all her vetting. Help me to become beautiful again.

How to donate/help:

Use the DONATE button It goes straight to Coretta Scott King
www.angelsrescue.org/donate and use your credit card. It goes right to Coretta Scott King.
She is in drop down box.

What happens when puppies are taken from their mother and surrendered to Animal Control?

They seek comfort. They seek warmth. They seek to become invisible…..in this case by becoming one pile of puppies.

These husky pups are 9 weeks old. Perhaps it was a backyard breeder hoping to make a profit who dumped these pups when they didn’t sell. Perhaps it was an accidental litter and no one wanted to adopt.

We can sit and speculate or we can act. Angels are oriented to action! Take action now by donating toward their care and sharing their story.

We've had a tough week. We've brought in a medical case and two dogs that turned out to be heartworm positive. They all will get the medical care they need and each dollar you give will help make that a reality.

So on this start to the holiday weekend, I wanted to share a pup that can be made happy and healthy with love and good nutrition. This is Hondo HUD. He's a six month old shepherd pup who really just needs vaccines, a medicated bath or two and a neuter. That's still a $300 vet bill, but a bargain considering the cost to treat his compatriots. If you chip in on that, his foster momma will fill his coffers with love!

So on this payday, if you've got a litte extra to share we hope you will share with Hondo and his friends with larger health issues (Haylie, Iris Blue and Arktika). You can give on our website www.angelsrescue.org/donate
Or you can click below - and any donations Hondo gets above his $300 need - he promises to share with his friends in need

Look at these two - can you even stand the cuteness??? This is Alaska Dove and Aspen Snow, Arktika’s puppies. Both of these babies are 9 weeks old and look like itty bitty polar bears. Alaska Dove is a male and Aspen Snow is a female. Both are 4 lbs or less. We knew that we had to get these babies out of the shelter and into a foster home, and fortunately a fantastic foster stepped up and took both. We will be getting both of these babies vetted, and we would appreciate any help you can provide in donations. To donate, click on the button and choose Alaska Dove and Aspen Snow from the drop down menu. Let’s also help these babies by spreading the word - like and comment on their post and share it with all your friends. Bless you Angels.

Birgitta is a pretty black cat 🐈‍⬛. She was in a shelter and the staff realized she was pregnant. They really wanted to get her to a rescue before the kittens came and fortunately we had a foster who could take her. We sure could use more fosters because the shelters are full of cats and kittens. 💔 If you’d be interested in fostering, the info is below with the link to apply.

I don’t have info for how many she is expecting but they all will need vetting and spay or neuter before adopted. So unfortunately Angels once again is asking for donations.
If she has 4 kittens angels will need $1750.00 for all 5 of them(includes Brigitte)! That’s a lot! Who will step up for her?

1/16/25 PUPDATE: Arktika is settling in at her wonderful foster's home. She even got to enjoy the wonderful snow cozied up in a warm sweater. We are still quite short of funds for basic vetting and heartworm treatment. If you can donate any amount - no matter how much - it would be so appreciated. Check her freedom pics in the comments.

Check out cutie, Arktika! She was named appropriately after our current winter storm. This doll was picked up with her 2 puppies who look like mini polar bears. Arktika is a 1 year old, 9 lb cream and brown Chi Mix. What we didn’t know when we picked her up was that she was heartworm positive. Arktika is being checked out at the vet and will require heartworm treatment which isn’t cheap. If you can donate to this sweet girl’s vetting and treatment, we would be so grateful. Click on the donate button and choose Arktika from the drop down. Please like, comment and share on this girl’s post. Thanks Angels!

**This will be very expensive! DONATIONS NEEDED!**
Update from our intake vet on medical:
“HUGE bladder stone felt on exam with palpation, confirmed via xray. Urinating a lot - squatted to urinate 2x just in the time of her exam - as bladder stone is huge and uncomfortable, very pungent urine. Starting on pain meds, antibiotics and scheduled for cystotomy and spay.”

Is she confident, or a little scared?
What do her pictures say to you?
Read on…

Haylie arrived at the shelter a little rough around the edges. We don’t have a picture of what she looked like, but the fact that they shaved her down perhaps speaks of tangles and mats.

When they took her outside to potty she strained to p*e, poor girl. By the time she got to the shelter vet she was worn out and fed up.

Unfortunately the vet found a couple things wrong. She has a HEART MURMUR grade 3 out of 6. She also has a BLADDER STONE, which explains the difficulty urinating. Have you ever had one? They are PAINFUL WITH BLADDER SPASMS.

She will need to be assessed again for her heart murmur under less stressful conditions to see if it improves. Then there is the bladder stone. She will need a full work up to evaluate that situation.

Angels took her anyway. Why? She will cost us much more than the usual $350.00 for intake vetting, perhaps hundreds more!

Why? You know why. She is worthy of having the best life that can be provided by Angels and her future adopter will need to be aware and capable of also providing for her.

So please, do your best for her. Spread the word, comment and yes, donate whatever you are capable of. She needs you!

Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, Atlanta, GA

Mission Our mission is two-fold:

1) To save as many animals as we can from high kill shelters and to see each animal through from the actual rescue to the loving foster home and ultimately to the "forever" home they were meant to have.

2) To educate the public on the plight of animals that have found themselves in high kill shelters throughout Georgia and on the responsibilities involved with pet ownership, such as spay/neuter and heartworm prevention.
