WE ARE CLOSED!
According to the current situation caused by the Corona (COVID-19) Virus, we have closed our NOÉ Animal Shelter from public!
We need to make sure that our members and colleagues who take care of our 1200 animals at the Shelter day by day stay healthy and would also like to ask everybody to follow the instructions of the experts and stay at home!
We hope that the crisis will be over soon, and we can open our gates again for our friends and visitors after it.

Today is a big day in little Ila's life! She got adopted by a lovely swiss family living in Budapest!

Zajla mommy and her 2 babies!

Zajla mama and her 2 puppies Zsill and Zana were thrown out and were left battered and in fear. We have received a call from the Animal Rescue Foundation in Füzesabony about the family. Animal lovers noticed the little family living in the bushes in Heves county. The workers of the Foundation have found a very thin, week German Shepherd like mommy dog and her 2 about 6 month old very scared puppies. On one of the puppies stomach (Zsill) was a deep infected cut and the other one was so afraid that he could only be caught with a trap. Zajla was so week that she could hardly stand up. They are all in our care now. Zsill is receiving treatment. We are trying to make Zajla stronger every day. She is getting special food and when she will be better then she will undergo a thorough orthopedic examination. She is very friendly, cuddly and even in this condition she is happy and wags her tail a lot. The babies are very shy but with the help of her mother we are slowly but surely change that.

Their rehabilitation has started and it will take a long time. We will not give up on them and we will heal their soul.

Julius and his open leg fracture!

Julius came to our care with an open leg fracture from the city pound of Miskolc. He had so much pain that he wanted to bite everybody's head off. Thanks to the competent team of the Délpest Állatgyógyászati Clinic his pain was lessened and it turned out that Julius is a sweet, cuddly and friendly dog.
His leg fracture is not new. It broke when he had an owner who didn't take him to a vet. Instead he bandaged his leg at home and when it didn't heal he took him to the city pound.
Because of the infection our miracle vet Dr. Boda couldn't put implant into it so Julius now has an outside grill fixture. He is still in the hospital because he is still getting treatment against the infection.
Please, keep your fingers crossed for him so his leg will heal!

Our new protegé Bullet!

We have received an urgent call about a dog who needed help asap. He is in terrible shape, he is totally blind. Bullet was nobody's dog and he lived in a village called Monok and his theoretic owner moved away and since this dog wasn't really his he didn't want to take Bullet with him. We were informed that his eyes were sprayed with something and it happened 2 weeks ago. He must have had horrendous pain and it looks like he is totally blind.
He is in our care now and we will do everything in our power to help him heal.

We are in shock!
2018.03.13.
Jonny, Rémusz, Rezeda és Rituka came to us from the city pound on Budapest. We were called by them and they asked for our help for the 4 elderly dogs. They have guarded their deceased elderly owner. They were all in a bad state and it looked like that their owner was not able to take care of them when she was alive. They problably didn't leave the flat in the last couple of years and it was natural for them to p*e and p**p in the flat. All of them are very skinny, have hair loss, have eye, ear, intestinal and orthopedic issues. We have taken them to our vet for evaluation. First, we will try to get them in better shape. We are hoping that they will have a couple of more years with a new loving owners.

As you all know the story of Jankó who was hit on the head with an axe which he survived but then had tetanus.
He has been a resident at the Délpes Vet Clinic for a long time because of his health problems. With the leadership of Dr. Tamás Jandó his treatment started to work. He received serum against the tetanus bacteria, he was placed in a dark and quiet kenel and received antibiotics as well.
Now we have good news to report.
1, the disease stopped spreading and he has less muscle cramps
2, he doesn't need to get another dose of serum and he received the shot against tetanus.
3, if everything goes well then he can come home next week.
+1 Jankó is a sweetheart and everybody loves him at the clinic.

It looks like that we are called about a horror story every day. In the middle of the winter animal lovers found this almost bald dog. The poor dog's house was a steel barrel, he was chained to a short leash and he was hardly given food or water. It turns out that his owner was a bed ridden old lady who couldn't even take care of herself and her also old neighbor helped her but the nobody took care of the dog...

He came to our animal home and we took him to the vet immediately and was examined and we are waiting for the results about his skin and fur. It is certain that he has dirofilari immitis (heartworms). :(

The years of deprivation took a toll on his body. We gave him the name Tóni and he is probably middle aged and loves to cuddle and he is just a very sweet dog. We are hoping we didn't come to late. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him and looking into his beautiful eyes we know he can make it.

Tóni's treatment and recovery will be long and very expensive. Please support him!

Our sweet Zseni Miskolc had the p***s removal surgery. He is still at the vet's clinic for observation but the operating surgeon our very own miracle worker Dr. Boda is optimistic. His p***s and p***s bone has been removed and new "exit" was made where the urine can leave the body. Of course Zseni has to get used to it and we are optimistic too. We are anxiously waiting for the biopsy results to see what are we dealing with. Please, keep your fingers crossed for him.

Jankó was found on Sunday 14th January, 2018 in a village called Kisterenye. He was found tied in a bag and he had a serious head injury, he was hit on the head with an axe. :(
The local animal rescue team has asked for our help after he received and survived the first life saving care from the local veet.

Jankó's skull is fractured as you can see on the xray picture. His eyes are bloodshot and his pupils react very slowly and he hardly reacts to exteroceptive impulses. His whole head is oedematous and he can hardly open his eyes. He has to stay in the vet clinic for now.

This young hardly 1 year old male mix boy needs your prayers and keep your fingers crossed. We are hoping that his yound body can cope with the stress and with the injuries both physically and mentally.
The police was called to the seen and the offical procedure has started and we are hoping that the investigation will reveal who did this to him.

Last Tuesday we took our 4 protegés to Dr. Dalma Péterfia cardiologist and heartworm specialist and we came home with mixed emotions.

Jive the protegé of the Noah's animal home Boxer rescue team whose PCR test came back positive. The ultrasound showed that he doesn't have full grown worms around his heart but his blood is full of heartworm larvas so his treatment will be taken place at the vet clinic and at first he will get a thinning treatment then continue with a slow therapy.

Ficánka has been in our care for a long time. He is Pekinese mix with epilepsy who already lost his 2 eyes due to glaucoma. Also it was suspected that he has cushing syndrome and the lab results confirmed it. Also the ultrasound showed that he has adrenal cancer and that causes the problems. It is inoperable and we are hoping that the expensive Vetoryl treatment will give him more time.

Sole our wonderful German shepherd dog already had an unsuccessful heartworm removal surgery by catheter so he has received the 6 month long medical treatment and we were hoping that we will receive good news today that the vet will not see any worms but unfortunately that was not the case. There are some grown worms around his heart so he will receive another 6 month long medical treatment.

Bajusz our Puli like new protegé who came to us because his owner has died. The quick test came back positive. The ultrasound showed that he doesn't have any full grown worms around his heart but there are a lot of o***s in his blood and to determine what kind they are (heartworm or skinworm) a PCR test will be done.

So all 4 of them need treatment. Our visit today cost us 70,000,- forint (about 230 euros). Their further treatment will long and expensive and we need you help!

Viktória Váratlan and her struggles

Keep your fingers crossed for Viktória Váratlan!

Viki and her brothers, sisters and mother came from the city pound in Edelény. The puppies were only couple of hours old.

We knew that this will not be an easy round and we will have hardships but we were optimistic. Shortly after arrival we lost 2 puppies and since then we lost 2 more and now Viktória had to be taken from her family. We know that the best place for a baby is with her mother but in this case we didn't have a choice. Viki was a lot smaller then her brothers and yesterday they ostracized her so it would have been dangerous for to stay with them.

For now she is with Betti who is one of our volunteer workers and she has a lot of experience. In 2017 she brouhgt up 18 animals (dogs and cats). Viktória is the 19th. We are hoping that this is just temporary and Viki will get her act together and we can put her back with her family. We'll see!

Zseni the teddy bear has arrived!

Another dog who's life was in danger came to our animal home. Zseni an older mix male dog was in the city pound of Miskolc and Miskolc Second Chance Foundation asked for our help because Zseni is very sick. He has been p*eing blood, had a fever, had a lot of pain and he could hardly stand on his feet. We took him to our vet immediately where his treatment started. He was castrated right away because on of his tesicles was cancerous and was 4 times bigger than normal. His prostate glands are also swollen and urinating was extremly painful for him. He is taking medication and we are keeping every finger crossed for him so he will recover.

Poor Zseni as and old, big male dog he wouldn't have had a big chance of being adopted even without health issues. We are hoping now that with all of our help he will have quite a few years of happy life. Maybe you are the one to give it to him?
He is now staying in the hospital ward on Noah animal home until he recovers totally.

Jeges is in surgery!

In Megyaszón in Borsod county a dog was found who was in a bad condition. She had va**nal prolapse and as you can see on the pictures it was quite serious. The animal rescue groups in the region started to reach out for help and thanks to Kata Babák and others arrangements were made and Róbert Dargay transported her to Budapest to Dr. Juhász' vet clinic. They arrived at 2 am in the night and they started to stabilize her condition right away.

We gave her the name Jeges because of her beautiful fur. She is a nice dog although we don't know her personally. For now the most important thing is to operate on her. The va**nal prolapse can happen when the dog is in heat. The va**na comes out of the body and it can become dirty, infected and the mucosa dries out. We are hoping that it is not to late and after the operation she will heal without complications.

So keep your fingers crossed for her that the operation will be succesfull and that she will be able to experience what it feels like to be loved.

ANIMAL’S CHRISTMAS ON SATURDAY!
This usually is the best day of the year for us. We get the opportunity to talk to you all, to share our memories and new stories of our animals. We enjoy the aroma of the hot tea and mulled wine and Christmas cake… Our animals also enjoy the extra love our guest share with them on this occasion.

Sole's catether surgery was unsuccessful!
2017.10.03.
The first October weekend was almost only about the World Animals day. Almost because we were worried about Sole who was operated on this weekend. He had the catheter surgery where the vet tried to extract the grown heartworms from around his heart.

The catheter went into his heart 12 times but unfortunately nothing got hooked on it and the parasites are still in his heart. This occasionally happens. The good news that Sole woke well and recovered quickly from this operation.
We won't give up and we will do everything in our power to heal him but we have to change tactics. In 10 days after his sutures will be taken out his medication treatment will begin.

Poor Sole has suffered so much already and now this!
He is a lovely and friendly dog who deserves a loving family.

This also happened on the world animal day!
2017.10.09.
A very well organized and prepared rescue operation took place in Zala county at a puppy farm where 139 small dogs were rescued. Many Animal Rescue Organisations and the authoraties have worked together officially and legally to save those animals in need. All of the dogs were kept in small wooden rabbit cages and they were standing in their own faeces and urine. We couldn't just stand by so we helped out as well and took some of the dogs in.
The dogs are all sick, have a lot of fleas in them and the condition of their eyes and ears are terrible. We will introduce them in the coming days.
We would like to thank the authorities and the 14 Animal Rescue organisatins for the great work that they have done together!
