Dear Mudi Owners!

The AKC gave this official response to an email request that the changes to the Mudi Breed Standard proposed by the MCA not be allowed:

“The AKC Parent Club, Mudi Club of America, is entitled to submit proposed revisions to the standard, it is not AKC policy that these be approved by FCI”

(This response above was shared with me, and I asked for permission to share this section publicly.
Entitlement is defined below by Oxford Languages.)

AKC is claiming the MCA has ‘legal right’ or ‘just claim’ to change the standard when they clearly do not, as the Mudi is an official Hungarikum protected by law. The Mudi breed belongs to Hungary, not the USA/AKC/MCA.

The AKC/MCA took this entitlement posture themselves, it was not bestowed upon them, they only believe it to be so. This is top shelf arrogance.

I implore you to please email the AKC as soon as you can to let them know they do not have the right to change the Mudi Breed Standard as they are not entitled to do so under any circumstances as the Mudi belongs to Hungary.

If you own a Mudi and care about the breeds future, please, take the time to email the AKC now. This matter affects the whole worlds Mudi population, not just the Mudis in America.

I believe together we can make an impact against the MCA's proposed changes. But time to respond is running out, so please do not delay your email.

I thank you and the Mudi breed thanks you!
