1. 🐝 The average hearing range for a dog is usually around 67 hertz to 45,000 hertz (45 kilohertz). Human hearing stretches from 20 hertz to 20,000 hertz (20 kilohertz) 🦎

2. ❤️ A dog’s ears are rich with nerve-endings, which makes the ears an easy location to scratch or rub and trigger the release of Oxytocin and other pleasing hormones. That is why they loves ear rubs 💕

3. L shape ear canal! Vertical toward the jaw, then taking an almost 90-degree turn horizontally toward the eardrum. This makes examination challenging and predisposes dogs to a variety of ear ailments.

Can Kittens Drink Milk? 🍼

The short answer: The only milk that is healthy for kittens to drink is either their mother’s, or they will need a kitten milk replacer, which can also be called KMR or kitten milk formula if there is no mama cat.

You can feed your newborn kitten a nutritional substitute that’s called kitten milk replacer. It’s essential that you avoid feeding a kitten the same milk that humans consume. Typical cow’s milk can make cats very sick. If you’re unsure of which kitten milk replacer to choose, talk to a veterinarian. They can help you select the right one. 🐈

Funfact: bottle feeding a newborn kitten is exhausting for some people because you have to feed Every. Two. Hours.
But they will rely on you to survive if their mother isn’t around. 🥲

Our clinic are overrun by kittens 🐱

Kittens come into the world with their eyes and ears closed and spend the first week or so of their lives blind and deaf.

Around three weeks of age is usually when kittens start to take their first shaky steps. While they start out wobbly and unsure, as balance begins to improve during the fourth week they become more confident and eager to explore their surroundings.

By five weeks of age, kittens are confident enough in their newfound mobility that they become curious and playful, making it an excellent time to start socializing them 🧶 🐈

Nail clippings with vet Raysa and nurse Gusde 🦴🐾

If your dog does not want his nails clipped, he may try to flee or even become aggressive and bite or scratch when restrained for nail clippings.

Some tips for dog parents,
place the clipper on your dog's nail, but near the end, far away from the quick, and clip the nail. Do just one nail at first, then take a break, do subsequent nails in further sessions, gradually start working back to where the nails need to be cut, farther away from the tip.

Also, provide a distraction like a chew toy or food while clipping nails. 🦴🐶

Female cats become reproductively mature from as early as four months old.
This week, we had a case that a 4 months female cat gave birth but it was impossible to deliver the babies normally while amniotic sac already broke for several hours and need caesarean emergency as soon as possible. 🚨

This is too young for a safe pregnancy, and highlights the importance of neutering your cat before letting them outdoors.
Spayed or neutered procedures should be performed in the first 5 months of your cat's life, this will help reduce the risk of an early age pregnancy.

Very important to remember folks! So easy to get carried away in the moment and not think the long term plan through. When getting a pet remember they live a long time, and require your love, care and attention day in day out. Only take on a pet if you are sure you are ready for this challenge.

The classic cone of shame, your pet may hate them, but vets dispense them for a reason, so it is important that you keep them on your pet as directed by your clinician.

E-collars are usually given after surgical procedures to prevent your pet from licking, biting, or scratching at a wound or surgery site.

You may think Fluffy as the perfect pet would never do such a thing, but don't be fooled - all pets will naturally lick or scratch to some extent. The only way to ensure your pet will have the quickest and best recovery is to wear the E collar ✨
