🌟 Adopt Rose and Susie🌟

These two precious little girls are the last pups of their litter who are still in search for their forever homes here in Bali.

Only four weeks ago we pulled them out of some bushes at the slope of a river while walking our rescued dogs who alerted us to them. They were then very lovingly nurtured by our wonderful team.

As mixed breeds we expect them to stay small to medium in size. With around nine weeks of age, they are already dewormed and vaccinated upon adoption. Their sterilization will be funded through our program once they are old enough.

Both, Rose and Susie are totally adorable, friendly, cuddly, playful and joyful, just like pups should be. They have no trauma and simply enjoy all life has to offer.

✨ Tumpek Kandang - A day to honor and appreciate animals ✨

Every six months we are celebrating Tumpek Kandang here in Bali, the day to worship the God of all animals. 🐕🐈🐄🐖🐓🦆🐒

The deeper meaning of Tumpek Kandang is it to remind people to be grateful for the blessings the harmony between humans, nature and the spiritual world empathizes and to honor the vital roles all animals play within the ecosystem.

The two leader dogs of our Safe House, Ava as the female and Danny as the male, have been blessed as the representatives for the entire pack.

They were sprinkled with rice and holy water and prayers were offered to honor them for their deep friendship and unconditional love.

Let this be a great reminder, not only for today but every day, that the lives of all animals are sacred too. Choose kindness and compassion, always. ❤️

🩵 Forever loved 🩵

What better way to end this week than with the happy news that our beautiful survivor puppy Jojo found his forever home with Josi.

She was on the lookout for a friend for her other rescue Habibi and when they both came to our Safe House with the intention to adopt, it was Jojo who they bonded with instantly.

Three wonderful play dates forward and the adoption was made official.

Our hearts couldn’t be more full. Not only because Jojo has found his forever home after his incredible battle against the distemper virus, but we are also so very grateful to Josi for saving two lives by adopting.

Be safe, be happy Jojo. Always!

TVT cancer is taking over 💔
Can you help us heal Kiki?

This little girl is Kiki. Not yet being spayed, she contracted this sexual transmitted disease trough direct skin-to-skin contact while mating.

Passed around the population of unsterilized and free roaming dogs this form of cancer spreads quickly, endangering more and more dogs daily.

Unfortunately for her the huge Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT) that has formed in the inside of her ge****ls, is now protruding. Kiki‘s owners have not been educated on this disease, but once they saw her bleeding from her incredibly swollen ge****ls, they knew something wasn’t right.

It was lucky that they called us for help because left untreated, the cancer would metastasize throughout the entire body and eventually taking Kiki‘s life.

Treating TVT is efficient but it comes with significant costs that are out of reach for most local dog owners here in Bali. We transferred Kiki to the vet clinic where her life-saving treatment begins.

By the size of her tumor she will require approximately 6-8 chemotherapy sessions and possible tumor removal to heal her from cancer plus sterilization surgery to prevent reinfection in the future.

Therefore we estimate her bill including chemotherapy, medical treatment, vaccinations, sterilization and care, to amount to around USD 500,-.

Experience the joy of giving back through fostering 🐶

Fostering is a very rewarding experience and a great act of kindness.

The dog you temporarily give a home to will hold a special place in your heart and you have made a difference in its life.

Our beautiful girl Ria was the lucky one who thanks to Maud and her partner has the chance of a wonderful vacation in a loving home environment. Her stay may be temporary, but the impact it will have is everlasting.

Especially rescued dogs thrive in one-on-one care. It gives them the opportunity to socialize and to experience what life is like outside of our Safe House.

Foster terms can be as long as 2 weeks - of course extendable to long term if everyone is happy ☺️. We provide food, vet care, support and other necessities the dog may need and you provide the love and safe place.

We have other amazing dogs who would benefit from fostering. If you don’t want to commit right now but still have space in your heart to give a rescued dog a temporary home, then please send us a PM if you can help, or share this post to spread the word. 🫶

Love and second chances for Lilax ❤️

Back in May we introduced you to Lilax, a little Pom Mix who had not been spayed which let to her battling a huge Transmissible Venereal Tumor on her ge****ls, called TVT.

We offered her family to provide necessary treatment for Lilax to help her heal from this highly contagious form of cancer, which they were grateful for.

After spending a week at the vet clinic for blood checks and chemotherapy, we then transferred her to an external boarding facility where she continued to recover over the past two months.

Thanks to everyone who supported her care, she was finally cleared of cancer and declared healthy after a total of six rounds of chemotherapy. 🙌🏻 We also vaccinated and spayed her to prevent reinfection in the future.

When it was time for Lilax to return home, her family refused her. They didn’t want her back because they had replaced her with two tiny puppies. It goes without saying that out of this circumstance, a new better life altogether will be ahead of Lilax.

She has now been taken into foster care by our team member Herlin. Here she continues to thrive until a forever home is found in which she is cherished and loved the way she deserves.

Changing lives together with you ❤️‍🩹

This beautiful girl is lovingly called mama Choklat by our team. She has been part of our street feeding tour since we discovered her at the end of April.

She lives in a quite safe community, surrounded by other dogs such as Molly whose transformation we previously featured on our feed, but also by kind local people who occasionally feed her.

After she had given birth, her immune system decreased and she developed mange that sadly transmitted to her two babies. We began to support the vulnerable little family with regular additional nutritious food, have provided deworming followed by skin treatment to cure their mange.

During our previous health day we already vaccinated Mama Choklat against rabies and we spayed her to prevent future suffering.

She has made a beautiful overall recovery and so did her pups who we are planning to vaccinate and sterilize them as well once they are old enough.

Being a permanent member of our street feeding tour we of course will continue to monitor them daily as we do with all the dogs we care for, ensuring their health is well maintained.

💖 Adopt Elsa 💖

Our most adorable little girl Elsa is ready to find her forever family here in Bali.

Only five weeks ago she was found dumped at the door step of our founder Sabine’s home who is now lovingly fostering her until she is adopted.

Despite that sad past and the tough start to her life, Elsa’s spirit and heart were not broken. She is best described as an absolute bundle of joy and carries no emotional trauma.

With just 2.5 months of age she is as playful as a puppy should be, whether it is with toys, humans or dogs, big and small, she loves them all.

She is a Schnauzer Bali Dog Mix who we expect to grow medium in size. She is dewormed, flea, tick and parasite treated and she received her first vaccination. Once old enough she will be spayed through our program.

Elsa is brave, super smart, incredibly entertaining and affectionate. She is fully potty trained and house broken.

Whether you are looking for a sweet dog to spoil and who will in return give you unconditional love, or a friendly, obedient companion who faithfully joins you on every adventure in life, then Elsa will be your perfect match.

Currently surrounded by 12 foster siblings and therefore so well socialized with other dogs, we are wishing for her to ideally go into a home with another furry child which would benefit her the most.

Spay and Neuter saves lives ❤️‍🩹

We are pleased to inform that yesterday we successfully spayed and neutered a total of 42 animals.

That includes all pre registered dogs and cats who we introduced to you in our previous post plus a lot of additional pets who were brought to our sterilization facility directly by their caring owners.

27 female dogs, 4 male dogs, 7 female cats and 4 male cats are now looking towards a healthier and better future life.

Furthermore 27 rabies and 1 full vaccination were given. We also provided chemotherapy for TVT cancer to 1 dog.

We are again so very thankful to both vet teams for their tireless work, our girls for their dedication and YOU, our wonderful supporters, for allowing this event for the animals to happen.

With this kindest cut of all, we prevented the birth and the resulting suffer of over 3 Million unwanted puppies and kittens in only 6 years. ‼️

🩵 Adopt Poleng 🩵

Many of you have followed his story. Many of you supported his healing and many of you fell in love with him online.

This little warrior turned back to life from stone with tender loving care in only two months. He was then welcomed back into the home of the family who discovered him, gave him refuge and who had called for our help immediately.

Unfortunately, because of unforeseen circumstances Poleng had to be saved again after complaints of neighbors have arisen that put his life at great risk. It was a hard decision to make, but at the end his safety was our all priority.

If you have ever considered adopting this unique miracle dog, then now is the time.

Poleng is safe with us and currently in foster care with our team member Elika, yet we wish him to be with a forever family. We promised him that we will find the perfect home where he will have the love and security that he knows from our team.

He is a small short legged Bali Dog Mix , who is in the prime of his life but a puppy at heart. He is dewormed, flea, tick and parasite treated, vaccinated and neutered already through our program.

With his little back leg stretches, his play bow and his soft kisses, he presents a joyful and affectionate personality.

Just like a „kinder surprise egg“ we continue to discover new cute little quirks about him every day. So does he show himself well around children and other dogs and he also walks on a leash like a little pro despite the fact that he never was on one before.

Sterilization sponsors needed to reduce suffering ❤️‍🩹

Did you know that 1 female dog and her offspring can produce up to 67.000 puppies in only 6 years?

And that 1 female cat and her offspring can produce up to 420.000 kittens in just 7 years?

To break this birth cycle and prevent more animals from suffering, we need to keep on sterilizing as many as we can. And we hope that with your help we can. 🙏🏻

This Thursday we are holding another health day in which we pre registered 25 dogs and cats to be vaccinated and to have life-changing surgery.

Each sterilization will hereby cost us 25,- USD. We are now in urgent need of sponsors to cover the 25 operations all of which amount to a total of 625,- USD.
