Twisted umbilical cord adalah kejadian dimana hatchling terlilit dengan ari-ari/umbilical cord. Biasanya disebabkan dari posisi embryo yang kurang baik. Ada beberapa akibat yg bisa terjadi saat ular terlilit ari-ari nya, 1. bengkok pada tulang jika terlilit dalam waktu yg lama 2. infeksi jika dibiarkan tanpa ditangani 3. sobek pada ventral disebabkan ular berusaha melepaskan badannya dari lilitan 4. jika dibiarkan hatchling bisa mati lemas penanganannya di GMR sebagai berikut: 1. siapkan gunting hemostat/klem, gunting iris kecil, sarung tangan latex dan alkohol 70% 2. sterilkan alat2 dan gunakan sarung latex utk mencegah infeksi 3. gunakan gunting hemostat utk menjepit/klem ari-ari, posisi jepit prioritaskan bagian yg agak kecil dan tidak banyak pembuluh darah 4. setelah itu gunting tali ari-ari dan pastikan ular tidak tersangkut lagi 5. setelah ular tidak terlilit, jika memungkinkan dipindahkan ke tempat yang steril dan jaga kelembapan. 6. Terakhir, Do it on your own risk. Jika ada kenalan exotic vet pastinya akan lebih baik jika ditangani oleh tenaga medis profesional.
