Every month we hold a sponsored sterilisation and vaccination day for the Bali dogs and cats of low-income residents of Tanjung Benoa. We focus on education, sterilisation and vaccination in order to control dog and cat populations with the following primary objectives:

Another day in Bali and yet another dumped dog. reported by a kind tourist who was on her way to the airport.😭.

I am not a rescue organisation. I have 61 dogs in my home which is a huge challenge both physically and financially and another 25 in our old dive centre property. My program was designed to help people help their animals through vaccination and sterilisation.

So I went to check on him. How could I not?

He was sick and dangerously close to a really busy street with crazy traffic. It was certain death.

He also has blood parasites which he has now been treated for along with scabies and a belly full of worms.

I need more support.

🤗🐶❤️HELP NEEDED ❤️🐶🤗

I haven’t been posting updates much as I just haven’t had time. Two of my own dogs have been very sick. Oscar who is 17.5 had his cancer surgery today and is recovering nicely - he’s one tough Bali dog. My sincere appreciation to Dr. Wilson at Sunset Vet who was absolutely amazing with my old boy and his extremely nervous Mom. He had him on and out of surgery within 30 minutes. My Putri who was dumped almost 10 years ago unfortunately has kidney failure.

The good news is that Valery checked out of the clinic today and has gone to the Gaia sanctuary. This was the dog roped by dog meat eaters (which abound here in Bali 😡) and then going to be dumped with an open wound by another rescue back on the street. I had her in the clinic almost 6 weeks to heal. Thank you so much for taking her, I simply cannot take any more dogs. I was never set up as a rescue and have 60 dogs in my home and another 25 in my husbands bankrupted dive centre. Total expenses to care for them not including vet are USD3,000 a month.

Pak Raka has rescued three dogs dumped in Tanjung Benoa and asked for my help today. I had three vouchers left so he has taken them. This is what my program is all about, the dumping of animals in Bali is beyond insane and has to stop. It’s only through education, vaccination and sterilisation that we can make a change. But a different challenge has arisen here - BACKYARD BREEDERS 😡 - everywhere almost half of what I am seeing dumped now are breed dogs. I have taken 34 dumped pit bulls off the streets of Nusa Dua since 2011.

I need help and support as am in the 💩again financially which is a HUGE stress.🙄

Meet Charlie ❤️

This little pup was dumped in a petrol station in Tanjung Benoa with a fish hook in his mouth. He is barely 6 weeks old. Lots of people looked and said “oh poor thing” but nobody was willing to save him. I took him, how could I not help? He was hungry and dehydrated.

Charlie is now at the vet receiving a check up and first vaccines. Fish hook has been removed.

Valery is almost ready to leave the clinic! She will go to another local rescue as I do not have a shelter and currently have 86 dogs most in my personal home. Each dog costs USD25 a month to feed on average.

💔Valery💔

This dog is taken care of by a kind lady not far from my home. She feeds street dogs and cats from her own money but relies on others to help with vet costs. A week ago I was asked for help but couldn’t because my vet bill was over the limit (it still 🫤 is at IDR45,000,000 / AUD4,500 / USD3,000).

She was roped by dog meat eaters and got away. 😡

Another rescue picked her up but will not pay to continue treatment or sterilise and vaccinate. The vet wants her out and they intended to put her back in the street not yet fully healed.

I’m not going to elaborate but have one thing to say if you’re going to do something do it right.

Money is always an issue and yes it creates a huge amount of stress. I’ve been at this since 2011.

Please 🙏🙏🙏 do not message me with videos or photos of injured dogs and crying faces. I have reached my limits today.

1. Pet owners need to be responsible. Every day around Bali dogs are dumped, smashed by cars, etc. It is depressing and never ending.
2. My program is only for Tanjung Benoa and is NOT a rescue but is a small sterilisation and vaccination program designed to help animals of poor people and beach / street dogs to control populations and prevent rabies. I do not have a shelter. Education, vaccination and sterilisation.
3. My vet account is frozen @66,000,000 IDR I could not help if I wanted to.

There are many rescues in Bali please contact another organisation.

Now that she’s no longer a tiny puppy for the kid to play with she’s been banished to the streets of Bali where no dog is safe. She’s only 3 months old. People were beating her trying to make her go away, all she wants to do is go home only to find the gate now locked in her face.

I have no words.

If I can get USD1000 in donations I will get her picked up. Otherwise she risks the chance of being beaten to death or poisoned as people in the area don’t like dogs. Nobody else offered to help only hurt. 😞

💔MEET JACKSON 💔

On my way home last night I saw this little guy laying on the side of a busy road in Tanjung Benoa. I know I said no more and with a USD4,000 dollar vet bill I closed my eyes and drove by for the first time in my life. A half a kilometre down the road two of my dogs looked at me like, “you gonna turn around and help him Mom?” Ya ok ok or they know I won’t sleep well so back we went.

I asked around the spa staff sitting playing on their phones oblivious to this little guy in need, an angry tourist watching me rescue Jackson who had to walk in the street. What is happening to our humanity? 😭. Nobody offered to help they all watched or walked by. Meh 🫤.

As my old doggie truck that has saved thousands of animals (which is on its last leg, engine is shot, rusty holes in the floor) coughed and sputtered and ran its well known route to Seminyak a 45 minute drive away now with Bali’s annoying traffic we finally got to the vet.

Jackson is around 2 years old. He has a serious skin condition and scabies. He also has two blood parasites. He will be treated for all his ailments.

Bali peeps, please don’t dump your animals seek help he was absolutely terrified in the street alone. He’s a super sweet little boy who wagged his tail despite his condition.

🆘 HELP NEEDED 🆘

I know people get tired of these posts. I’m sorry, but my program runs on the kindness and generosity of the dog and cat loving community. I don’t mind begging to help them and in Bali so many need help. I can’t do it alone.

I get tired of people in Bali dumping dogs in my house and closed business but I always do the right thing (700+ since 2011) and fix them if I can. Adopt if I can.

I currently have 82 in my care which equates to an expense of USD3,000 a month, not including vet. Each dog costs USD25 a month to feed.

It’s all gotten out of control again sadly and I’m super stressed.

A lady who I helped under my sterilisation program who rescued 8 dogs dumped on Jimbaran beach all were sick with blood parasites and various other ailments putting me way over budget.😩

Then two more animals were dumped on me.

Five dogs in my care need surgery.

Then Selpy a well loved community dog that I sterilised and vaccinated got run over by a car.

I’ve got 8 animals in the clinic at the moment. 🙄

‼️HELP NEEDED‼️

Driving down the road this afternoon in Tanjung Benoa thinking it’s half way through the month and I haven’t seen one dumped puppy. Then boom, there’s a small scabby puppy about 3 months old darting in and out of traffic, people honking and he was absolutely terrified. A few choice words and the middle finger for those that honked at me rather than help because I stuffed up traffic. Little Charles is now with me.

Then as I get to our closed dive centre which houses another 21 of my rescue dogs my husband informs me that someone has dumped a dog in the old parking garage.

Little Robin is an older dog and has a huge maggot infested wound in her backside.

Both are now on the way to the vet.

I need help, anything helps. I now have 82 dogs in my care. Each dog costs USD25 a month just to feed.

This morning I vaccinated 3 puppies and 2 females are on the way to the clinic to be sterilised! 🥰

My vouchers for sterilising are now finished so the program is temporarily closed.

RESCUE AND SHELTERS ARE NOT THE ANSWER! Helping local people through education, sterilisation and vaccination of their animals is the only way! I have never seen so much dumping insanity as I do here in Bali it’s constant!

I have 80 dogs in my care costing USD4,000 a month. All my dogs were dumped including 3 pit bulls!😤

🆘 DONATIONS NEEDED 🆘

These four puppies were recently dumped in Tanjung Benoa. Two have been adopted but the other two are in a dangerous area for dog meat eaters. 😡. They are being taken care of for now but cannot stay there long term. I will vaccinate and sterilise them if I can get some donations making them more adoptable.

I haven’t been posting a lot as the past month I had to say goodbye to two of my old pack. 😭 Tigger who had been with me for almost 15 years and Pretty who was with me for 10. Both were suffering from kidney disease. This is the hardest part for me as they are my whole heart and saw their Mom through the hardest times in my life, including bankruptcy of our small business (dive centre) due to Covid.

I need help. I currently also have two dogs in the clinic one with Parvo and one with botulism poisoning. Both should make a full recovery.

❤️❤️❤️❤️ THREE BEAUTIFUL LITTLE KITTIES LOOKING FOR THEIR FUR-EVER HOMES ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Dumped in Tanjung Benoa four weeks ago these little ones are now about 8 weeks old.

They have had first vaccines and are ready to leave the clinic!

I will provide second vaccines + rabies and also sterilisation.

Please can anyone foster or adopt? I cannot have cats as have 80 dogs.

🆘 HELP NEEDED - PROGRAM TEMPORARILY CLOSED 🆘

Apologies as haven’t been doing updates as much as I should.

I have been at the vet more this week than at home. 😬

I currently have 8 animals in Sunset Vet and 1 in Central Vet.

Derek and Meredith - two dumped puppies had three blood parasites and were very sick good news is they will be able to leave the clinic in two days and will have had second vaccines. Available for adoption soon!

Three kitties - again dumped 😡 all were very sick sadly one passed away but three have survived. They have now been vaccinated and will be available for adoption in a few days!

Sherri - a cat owned by a very poor lady in Benoa who was wounded, she begged me for help. Sherri is going to make a full recovery and will also be sterilised and vaccinated.

Moli - a dog who came in under my sterilisation program but had a very bad wound on the leg. She will be able to go home soon.

Lala - helping a friend who didn’t know what to do with a sick dog he found in the street as it was his first rescue. He will also be fundraising.

Marley - was dumped 10 years ago and had been with me ever since. Torn ACL and Sublaxed patella having surgery today.

I need help. 😔🙏

I also have 13 dogs and 1 cat on the waiting list for sterilisation. All sterilisation activities have come to a screeching halt and several dogs are close to coming into heat. 😟

Educate. Sterilise. Vaccinate. It’s the only (!!!!) way to stop the suffering and the rabies virus which is also a very serious problem here in Bali with most victims being small children and now tourists also.

❤️ TEDDY (FORMERLY BONNY) IS ADOPTED ❤️

Dumped in Tanjung Benoa he was living under a banana tree where kids were throwing rocks at him 😭. Someone hit him and broke his leg that was enough for me I took him under my wing. He’s a very gentle soul.

After three weeks in Central Vet healing from a fractured leg today he went to his fur-ever home.😃

Thank you Cat for giving Tedy a chance at an amazing new life and for adopting and not shopping!

❤️A HEARTWARMING STORY - AGUS AND KEVIN ❤️ Two days ago I posted about two puppies that had been dumped in a park that is a popular dumping ground for animals. With 71 🐶 already in my care I simply couldn’t take them home.😭 Today when I want back to check on the pups much to my surprise they had both been adopted! One was adopted by the parking lot attendant. I know him. He is a simple man who works hard from 8am to 6pm 7 days a week collecting parking fees. So I organised a trip to Sunset Vet where he and his pup were both treated like royalty! Thank you Sunset Vet for honouring my request to help make his first ever visit to an animal hospital such a wonderful experience! ❤️ His pup got first vaccines, dewormed, flea and tick treatment, a collar, a leash, a bag of food and two toys. ❤️IT IS A MIRACLE DOGGY CAN WALK! ❤️ One month ago my phone rang at midnight, I picked it up and it was Ibu Sri. A kind lady who I have known for many years. She was desperate the neighbours dog was hit by a car that didn’t stop and left Doggy for dead. Doggy’s owners locked their doors and left him in the street, now useless because he couldn’t walk. 🤬 Sri stepped in to save him and asked for my help financially with the vet. Doggy was taken to Central Vet as Dr. Kadek is one of the best orthopaedists in Bali. X-rays revealed his back was broken. We both agreed it was best to euthanise Doggy as he couldn’t walk and he couldn’t control his pee or poo. I told Sri and she went to say goodbye to him. Then I got a message asking me to go ahead with the operation she said “Doggy has a strong will to live”. I always trust my instincts, so we went ahead with the operation. Now remember Doggy’s lower spine was completely fractured. He stayed at the clinic for three weeks whilst his wounds healed. Then the very unexpected happened, he stood up. 😳 I asked Dr. Kadek how this was possible and he just sent back one word “Miracle”. The below video is of Doggy today enjoying his life with Sri who has now adopted him. I need one more miracle 🙏🙏🙏🙏 and that’s to finish paying off Doggy’s vet bill so he can have the proper check ups and also his medicine. The balance I owe Central Vet is IDR9,000,000 (USD600).
