Molly on day one compared to her last day with me✨very happy with her progress over the two weeks. We ticked off rythym/relaxation, suppleness and starting to work on contact! Now that she understands those pieces of the puzzle it’s just a matter of practice makes perfect as she starts to combine everything in all paces.
Molly update! Making sure Molly has flexion from the poll and through her neck. This seems very simple but it is the most important first step. From here we turn it into turn on the forehand. This aids us with bend so from this very small and basic exercise it is helping us achieve suppleness which in turn helps us achieve contact and then impulsion going off the scales of training. Making sure we have all the pieces of the puzzle understood before combining it all together.
Practice makes progress✨Tinkerbelle is a very fast learner and I think the video speaks enough for itself with the progress she has made. The trot is much more rideable and of a much better quality. Not bad for our second ride. I look forward to seeing the rest of her progress.
First day riding tinkerbelle✨ Today was all about allowing me time to feel what tinkerbelle needs and allowing her time to adjust to me. We kept things very basic working on walk/trot transitions to test control and some circle work to see how her balance and suppleness is. Focusing on the very first step of the training scale to try achieve rhythm and relaxation which as you can see, is a little bit more difficult on the right rain especially. Over the next couple of days my main aim is to get tinkerbelle riding more forward in herself to eliminate that explosive feeling but all while keeping her relaxed and riding forward into the bridle. More videos continued in the comments!
Say hello to Tinkerbelle✨
Tinkerbelle is a 4yr old who is with me on a two week schooling livery holiday.
Tinkerbelle was seen by the physio two days ago so after two days off post treatment, today called for a 15minute session of groundwork just to keep her body loose and stretched out. A great introduction for us to get to know each other and keep her feeling comfortable and confident. Ground work is so important, especially with young horses. It really helps us analyse and to see and feel from the ground anything that might be good to know before riding. Check back for more updates on Tinkerbelle over the next couple of days.
