Harry was dumped & lived on the streets for nearly 9 months. He is now looking for his forever home. He was very skinny.

Harry was dumped September 2022 and was only rescued off the streets May 2023. Due to the trauma he has faced in his early life, Harry is a very nervous young dog who is only just now learning that humans aren't all that bad. He had a life that was far from normal - when he arrived he had no idea how to walk on a leash, he was terrified of everyone, of every sound. He was not house trained, by the

looks of it he had never even been inside a house before. He had fleas and ticks and probably worms too. With every day that passes, we see more and more of Harrys personality come out! He is learning every day what it means to be a loved dog, and the effect it is having on him is amazing- I'm sure you will notice the difference in him as you follow his journey! Harry is estimated to be younger than 2 years old, so there is still a lot of life left in him. So far we have learned that he loves playing ball, he LOVES getting his dinner, and he loves being around other dogs. Unfortunately we cannot keep Harry with us, so we are looking for his forever family. He needs a home with patient, dog-savvy humans who are knowledgeable in non-aversive dog training so that they can continue on progressing with his training that we are doing here with him. Ideally a home with another dog would suit him best, as he is extremely dog-orientated and feels safer with another dog around. Harry has huge potential to be a happy, healthy and intelligent dog and we are looking for a forever family who can bring that out in him!

Harry has learned how to walk on a leash over the last few weeks with us and now he loves his walks and behaves very well on leash! He has so much potential and if you think you might be the right family to bring that out in him, don’t hesitate to message us!

Harry is still looking for his furever home! We have had him with us for a few months now and we have a much better idea of his personality and know for a fact he will make a fantastic addition to whatever forever family he finds!

Chilling on the sofa in front of the TV. In order for me to feel comfortable letting Harry on the sofa, he has to be reliable and also get off the sofa when he's asked to. (using R+ training, no force or roughness) He's been doing a really good job at grasping the concept. 😊💜

⭐️ About Harry ⭐️
- Estimated to be under 2 years old
- He is an English Foxhound
- he will be about 25kg when he puts on the right amount of weight
- Very successful with house-training so far
- Good with other dogs
- Very nervous of humans, but he will improve with proper training & socialisation
- He doesn’t know how to walk on a leash, but this is also being worked on
- He’s a very curious & gentle dog with a lot of intelligence and training potential

⭐️ The kind of home Harry needs ⭐️
- A dog savvy home with people who understand dog behaviour & proper socialisation (or who are willing to hire R+ trainers to teach them). This is extremely important as without proper training/socialisation, Harry will stay in his nervous state forever, which is no life for a dog.
- An adult only home as he’s a nervous boy and might not cope with loud/fast children
- A home that has other dogs, or has friends with dogs who Harry can hang out with (he absolutely LOVES other dogs)
- An active home. As Harry is a foxhound he will need daily walks & exercise; without it, this breed is known to become destructive (like most breeds). A big back yard isn’t enough unfortunately.

Harry is a very cuddly dog with Saffy ; unfortunately she doesn’t exactly love cuddling him back (she always gets up and moves away)… So he’s learning to take what he can get, so I guess using her tail as a lil pillow will do for now 😂🐕

Harry is settling in very well to being an indoor family dog. He is doing so well with house training too; he hasn’t made any messes inside yet and is being praised a lot when he goes to the bathroom outside. He is such a smart dog!

This was a few days ago when we first saw Harry wag his tail, instead of keeping it tucked between his legs. Since then, he has been a very happy boy with a waggy tail; he is coming around so quickly! It's so lovely to witness!

A huge part of Harrys rehabilitation is just the “simple” act of relaxing inside our home.
As he hasn’t ever lived inside before by the looks of it; Harry found all the normal ‘house noises’ (doors opening/closing, peoples foot steps, cooking noises, radio, tv, etc) to be very worrying, but he is gradually learning that there is nothing to worry about. He is a very quick learner and today he seems to be really understanding that these noises are nothing to fear.

Harry loves Saffy so much! He’s much more confident when she’s around, and he loves trying to snuggle as close to her as he can … Sadly she’s not as interested in cuddling, but he’s a smart boy and gets the message! 🥰
