Our cow work clinic brought great people together for a fantastic weekend filled with valuable learning, skill-building, and teamwork.

" I went for a lesson at BullHorn Ranch as I rode horses once or twice years ago and decided I wanted to try again but I didn't quite like the English Saddle and thought I'd given Western a try - What a difference!

From the first call to enquire, Stephen was great at explaining how everything works and the way he teaches. When I arrived at the Ranch, the place looked amazing and the vibe was great. Also there is a bathroom if needed!

Stephen is great at explaining things and takes safety very seriously but still teaches in a fun way. He ran through how to brush down the horse and the equipment, once that was done, we went to the arena where he had me watch a quick demonstration first then had me come in.

He explained how to get up on the horse from the ground which I didn't think I could do as I'm 5ft 5 but I was surprised I managed to! He also gave me tips on how to get on and off the horse safely without hurting the horse too, then he had me walking with the horse to get used to how to change the directions and to holt. It was very relaxed and we had a couple of laughs throughout the lesson. I also was amazed how much more comfortable it was to sit in a western saddle then it was an English one.

Stephen was telling me about the events they do have in the Summer and that just sold me even more as the impression I was given was, BullHorn Ranch isn't just a place to come to ride a horse but to be able to experience the Western Lifestyle and be around people who share the same interest.

I will certainly be going back (hopefully soon!) with the intention to keep it up for the long run. If you're nervous around horses, you won't be nervous for long at the Ranch!"
