We often get asked “what is the best price” or are told oh I didn’t know kittens were so expensive.
So food for thought. The life of a reputable breeder.
We breed for the love of the breed. We do not get a wage or benefits we work 24/7 365 days a year. We would LOVE to get minimum wage but sadly that’s not possible. We get no donations or grants. This is not a sob story it’s a explanation.
Our breeding cats are often imported from overseas at great expense
All our breeding cats are health tested
We feed and care for them throughout their lives and give them all veterinary requirements
From breeding a female it takes 9 weeks to have a litter 9 weeks of care top quality food and the very best care
Then 13 weeks of care and top quality food,cat litter, electric, microchip, vaccinations, registration, neutering and health checks.
If we paid ourselves 2 euros per day per kitten that would be 300 euros then the cost of food and vet costs and electricity. Do you know anyone who would work for 2 euros per hour let alone 2 euros per day.
So next time you think about the cost of kittens just think about the costs that go into producing them

Hi All
I’ve had a good few messages re kitten availability for Christmas.
So I just wanted to post to say, we actively avoid litters that would be available at Christmas.

No judgment to other catteries who do but we think Christmas can be busy enough and stressful without a kitten trying to find its paws in it furever home.

It’s been 2yrs since the Mallow rescue kittens all got their fur-ever homes.
This litter all looked like the The Official Grumpy Cat but we’re born in a feral colony.
Made up with the homes they got. Some gorgeous updated pics coming later on today ❤️
