NEUTERING SCHEME AND DISCOUNTED MICROCHIP
Mating season has started. Now is the time to get any cats or kittens, 4 months or over, neutered. Are you feeding a stray? This is your chance to get it neutered before you're feeding six strays. This just runs for the month of February so book early. You will also get 10 euro off the cost off microchipping if done at the same time.

**Final reminder for the cat neutering scheme!!** Please note this scheme ends on the 30th Nov. It is open to all and for male and female cats🐱🐈 Please contact 087 7520725 if you would like to avail of this offer

We are glad to announce we are running another cat neutering scheme for the month of November. This is largely due to extra funds we got through fundraising by Grainne Culliton and her husband Bobby and also to recent funds raised by Orla Glancy. We wish to thank the vets in Laois for having no hesitation in participating in this which meant taking a big cut in their prices. We urge people to avail of this and help bring down the number of unwanted kittens. Kittens from 4 months onwards can be neutered/spayed.

There are road works on the Ballacolla/ Durrow road which may cause delays for anyone coming from that side. The Abbeyleix side is ok.

**KITTEN FOUND**
Grey and white male kitten (unneutered), approx 6 to 8 months of age found outside Abbeyleix. He had travelled in the engine of a car so unsure of where he came from. He's a very tame, lovely cat so he must be missed somewhere.
Please share around the Laois area!

Some of you availed of our 6 week neutering scheme in February/March. Obviously some didn't, judging by the amount of unwanted litters. We don't take kittens from people who won't neuter their cats. Your cat, your responsibility. Most vets will do them from 12 weeks onwards. We are giving you another opportunity to get your male and female cats done at a ridiculously low cost. Every vet in Laois have kindly come on board, list above. Book early. This only runs for a month and places fill up fast.

Our dog Flash went missing from the Shanahoe area last Friday during the thunder and lightning. She’s a grey mixed terrier and is very friendly. If shes seen please contact Phil at 0877503334

**ROAD WORKS**

Just to let everyone know roadworks are starting today on the L1652 (Parkbawn to Crooked wood cross).
This is expected to continue until 13th June, between the hours of 8am til 6pm.

***MISSING CAT***

Gus, an 18 month old neutered male cat, missing since 1/03/2022 from Kileshin, Portlaoise.
He is grey and white, long haired with a bald patch on his back leg after having surgery.

Laois SPCA, in conjunction with the attached list of vets, are running a subsidised neutering scheme. We urge people to get their cats done to avoid unwanted litters in the Spring. We recommend cat be neutered at approximately 4 months. Any later, you run the risk of them being already pregnant.
