4 year old Daschund "Sadie" in Cabinteely on her 3rd session ๐Ÿถ. Sadie was reactive to dogs and a dragger on the leash. Now she walks completely to heel and ignores every dog she sees. She walked past around 20 dogs, some off leash and ignored every one. Sadie also started her recall last week and now she's like a little rocket ๐Ÿš€ when called. Super stuff. Well done guys

These 2 girls started their heel walking together in Cabinteely County Dublin today ๐Ÿถ. Ones 9 years old and the other is 6 months old. Both are slightly reactive. Definitely not out of aggression, more curious and wanting to go over and check out the dog but it ends up in barking. This evening we went around Cabinteely Park and passed a lot of dogs and they did very well. There was no barking and they both started to ignore dogs they passed. Definitely work in progress walking them together but we're certainly getting there. Puppy was excellent. Well done Tina and see you next week

Lottie ignored them all. Well done Lottie, Sarah Jane, Sebastian and Lottie. Have a great holiday guys

A lot of people think "you can't teach an old dog new tricks". Well this girl wasn't listening to that. She's 9 years old and a major puller on the lead. Typical of a Collie, she trys to herd up a lot of the things she sees. Not enjoyable for her or her owner Tina. Well today for her 1st time ever she started heeling on the lead and she was doing it very well. Also started on her command to ignore distractions, and she picked that up I'm seconds. Well done Tina. See you guys during the week

Golden Retreiver "Charlie" back on his 2nd session in Cabinteely County Dublin ๐Ÿถ. Today we started rewiring Charlie's basic obedience commands. Charlie attended puppy classes when he was younger and learned to do commands a certain way, but we brushed up on them today and started doing them correctly.I Especially liked the fact that there was heavy rain while he was doing his class and he wasn't bothered by it in anyway. Well done, Charlie and Zoe. See you next Saturday

Collie "Bowie" back on his 2nd session in Cabinteely County Dublin ๐Ÿถ. Super clever dog. Bowie started his command to ignore distractions and he picked it up so quickly. Bowie is selective who he walks to heel for, so he needs to be doing it for everyone who holds his lead, but he's getting there. Walks excellently for me but he needs to be doing it as well for his owner. But by the end of the class he was. I really like Bowie he's a super super smart dog, who could probably do anything he was taught. So much potential in him. Thanks Liz and see you same time next week

Maltese "Lottie" back for her 2nd session in Cabinteely County Dublin ๐Ÿถ. Lottie was highly reactive to anything with 4 legs. She was also a puller on the lead. Today, Lottie started her command to ignore dogs or other distractions. And she did brilliant. Even ignoring dogs that were running right behind her and barking. But more impressively was her heel walking ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ•. She walked around Cabinteely Park a few times and kept to her owners heel the whole time. Well done Sarah Jane, Sebastian and Lottie. See you next Wednesday

10 month old Golden Retreiver "Charlie" started his 3 sessions in Cabinteely County Dublin ๐Ÿถ. Charlie was a puller on the lead and kind of did whatever he liked, which made walking difficult for his owners. But a great turn around from Charlie and by the the end of the session, he was walking beautifully to heel ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ•. Well done Lara, Zoe and Charlie

3 year old Working line German Shepherd Jackson back on his 3rd session in Cabinteely County Dublin ๐Ÿถ. Jackson has come on leaps and bounds since his 1st session. This boy was impossible to walk for his owner Margaret. He dragged on the lead and he reacted to every dog he came across. Now he walks to heel really well and ignores any dog he passes. Excellent stuff Jackson, Jack and Margaret. See you next Saturday

Ban on XL BULLY dogs from October 1st. The first time ever there's been a ban on a breed in Ireland. Unfortunately there has been some very bad incidents in the last while, involving the breed. But by bringing in this law, they are doing nothing more than signing the death warrant of so many innocent dogs. If you own an XL Bully or a cross bred Bully or even a dog suspected of being one. You are required to have a "Certificate of Exemption" from February 1st 2025. This means the dog must be microchipped, have a licence and must be neutered. Every dog must have a microchip and a licence, regardless of the breed. The neutering part of it, is clearly to wipe out the breed.
Why not have restrictions on who can own a breed like this. Why not introduce a law where someone who wants to own the breed. Do a course of education and training instead of effectively wiping the breed off the planet. I have known and worked with a lot of Bully breeds. And I have never met an aggressive one. Even ones that were protection trained. Some of the nicest dogs you could meet. And they didn't get the nickname of the "nanny dog" for no reason. Generally brought up in the right environment, they are fantastic with kids. It's wrong and an absolute shame that a breed of dog is literally going to be wiped out because of some idiots who owned them. Any Bully breed owners I've met over the years, where highly responsible people who loved their dog. There's idiots who own every breed. And every breed is capable of biting and inflicting damage on someone. Have a look at the article included of dog bites in Ireland. There isn't even dogs from the restricted breed list on it. Any dog can bite. All this law is doing is punishing the innocent ones

1 year old Jack Russell terrier "Millie" had a house call today in Bray County Wicklow ๐Ÿถ. Millie was wild on her lead and pulled her owner to whatever she wanted to get at. Millie was in no way aggressive to other dogs, but she wanted to be everybody's freind and say hello to everyone she came across, whether it was a person or a dog. First thing we did was get Millie walking to heel ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ•. So she was following her owner, rather than the other way round. Then we introduced her to a command to ignore distractions, whether it was a person or a dog. Millie did amazingly well. She was walking to heel in a matter of minutes and ignoring whatever she was told to. Big well done Millie and Catherine

Real break through session with "Jackson" the 3 year old Working line German Shepherd in Cabinteely County Dublin today ๐Ÿถ. Jackson is very reactive to other dogs on his walks. And he pulls like mad on the lead. But today he walked excellently to heel and we started him on his command to ignore other dogs. And he literally ignored nearly all the dogs he came across, even ones off leash, coming up to him from behind. Great stuff from Jackson and well done Margaret. See you next Saturday
