The Story of the Calendar:
In late June Martin was listening to Kerry radio, a farmer came on and began to talk about this semi n
**e fund raising they were doing. He asked the a few of the LGBT community here about the idea and most of us jumped at it. So Martin went in search of a photographer and the first to commit was Murt. We put a general call for volunteer models for the calendar through Facebook and our text service on the 12th of July:

We are looking for volunteers for a semi n**e fund raising calender for 2012. We will be using a professional photographer"http://www.murtphotography.com/" and all shots will be planned "August" before shooting begins in September at a secret location in Kerry with waterfall as a backdrop. (All proceeds after costs, will go Ciarrai Amach. This is part of our efforts to make the community here more visible and this is the main aim of the calender)

Hi ....., the person over the calendar Martin would like everyone going for it to be over 18 and have had a connection with Ciarrai Amach, Kerry LGBT Project in some way either volunteered or attended an event or made donation at some stage since it started. We also think this is a good way to do it, so its fair to those who've contributed to sustaining Kerry LGBT Project. So those who met the above criteria were immediately accepted as volunteers for calendar and months assigned and suggestions for shots taken. On the 21st of July
The following went out through Facebook, our website and our text service. Fund raising Calendar Open to LGBT & Friends
We now have enough volunteers to fill the calendar and a few in reserve. Thank you to everyone on the ground. We will be taking pre-orders for the calendar in September. It will be launched officially at the conference on 10th November. The professional photographer (http://www.murtphotography.com/) is raring to go. Shooting is taking place in September 2011 at a secret location in Kerry with waterfall as a backdrop. On the 23rd July
Martin and Murt meet 3 locations are chosen close together (including waterfall location yippee!!). Murt would like calendar volunteers to provide more detail about their poses for the shots. (http://www.murtphotography.com/)
He will take lots of shots for each month will select the best 3 or 4 for each month. We will get together and reach consensus on the final shot for each month. Each person will retain copyright for the shots they are in. Contracts will be signed. We will have the shots to the printers before the end of September and we will have the first calendars hot off the press ten days later. All Kerry LGBT & Friend models 4 calendar 2012. Following meeting with the photographer all models must be available on both Saturday the 3rd and Sunday 4th of September all day, only one of these days, will be chosen close to the date. Depending on weather and lighting conditions. There will be 3 remote outdoor locations near Castlegregory. If u are unable to meet these dates please say now. Tks Martin

To 2012 models- all shots will now reflect a more natural and recreational image, less of a pose and less nudity. The change is needed to show a visible LGBT community that's more main stream, that promotes Kerry and can attract sponsorship. A calendar that can be sold and hung anywhere without offence for example March will be a male couple in regular beach gear interacting with two boxer dogs with a spectacular backdrop. Please txt/call me with your ideas for your own shot by next week, as info needed for photographer and sales pitch to sponsors. Thank you, Martin

To all Calendar models:- following a meeting with the photographer yesterday, a final decision will be made by this Thursday 1st September, as to whether the day of shooting will be this Saturday or Sunday. All models need to wear bright colours; yellow, blue, red, pink, orange but no black or white and bring along any props ( Silver you can use your Harley bike). You will need a packed lunch and we will be meeting near Camp at about 10am (details by Thurs). Tks Martin

based on latest weather the calendar shoot will take place this Saturday (3rd September 2011)in the afternoon. Meet 11.30am @ ...............car park just before...... located on main road before ..........
We are using 3 local locations, models need to wear bright colours ( not black or white & bring any props e.g dogs, fishing rod, kayak, etc.. It should take approx 4 4hrs. Thanks everyone and see you Saturday. Martin 086 2288313
