** FOUND **

Black and white , male neutered cat brought in this morning by finder.
Found on the road in two mile house between the village and crèche. Distinctive markings : two Back paws are white socks and front paws and white toes. He is stable in our care and we are keeping him comfortable.

****FOUND KITTEN****

A kitten roughly around 6-9 months old has been found. She is a small brown and grey tabby cat, not microchipped. She was found near Crookstown with a larger black cat. She has been in finders house and is very comfortable there.

🎃 Hide chocolate and sweets from curious snouts this Halloween🎃

As we all know, chocolate is toxic to doggies, but there are lots of other things that can harm our furry friends.
Grapes, raisins, chocolate covered raisins, sweets or candy that contain Xylitol are all very toxic.
Lollipops and sweet wrappers can cause choking or a foreign body.
Keep all the sweet treats up away from your beloved pets 🎃

Signs of toxicity:
Vomiting, diarrhoea, excessive drinking, tremors, seizures, fast breathing, restlessness.

If you think your pet has ingested something that may cause harm, call your closest veterinary clinic as soon as possible 🐾

Halloween is just around the corner and it is time to prepare for firework season.

This can be an extremely stressful time for some of our beloved pets. Here are some tips to help them and you get through this spooky season.

Dogs and cats should be kept inside. Dogs should be walked early and brought out on lead to go to the toilet, even in your own garden.

Create a safe space by making sure that all windows and doors are closed. Ensure that curtains are drawn. For dogs, create a quite, dark corner or under a table using there bed and any of there favourite toys. Cats however love to hide in high, small spaces

Provide background noise: turning on the TV or radio will help to drown out some of the noise

Make sure all pets have identification: If your dog or cat accidentally escapes and runs away in panic it’s important that they have easily readable identification – such as a microchip – so that they can be reunited with you as quickly and easily as possibl

Give your pet reassurance if they seek it, remaining calm. Keep your routine as normal as possible. Praise calm or relaxed behaviour but don’t admonish your pet for anxious behaviour – no matter how irritating a pet’s behaviour may be, never use punishment.

Although they're many calm aids over-the-counter, these take time to work. Leaving it the week before may affect results. If you are finding these calm aids aren't suitable, you may need anxiety medication to help them relax.

A member of the public came in with a ginger, not neutered male cat, no collar and no microchip. Unfortunately he had passed away. He was found at the entrance of the industrial estate on the Naas road. If you have any information please get in contact with is.

Meet Pickles. She's such a dote. Just look at that face 😍 Pickles was in to see the vet today to get her microchipped placed. She was so brave.

Meet Rocky, who was in with us recently for blood pressure monitoring. Rocky has an ongoing heart problem and needs to have his blood pressure monitored regularly. As you can see, Rocky is very used to this noninvasive procedure, and the treats given to him during. 😋😊

Hi folks, I hope you all had a lovely long weekend. Meet Kobe. Kobe was in for his annual booster vaccinations, which he took like champion. If only every health check and vaccination went so smoothly.☺️ He was truly the best boy, and he knew where the treats were hidden by the end of the visit😂. For such a brute, he was a true angle. 😇 Vaccinations help to stimulate an immune response, which will then produce antibodies. These antibodies allow the body to identify the disease or virus. If/when the pet comes into contact with the pathogen, the antibodies will neutralise the forgin substance. If you have any questions or would like to book your pet in for the vaccinations, please call 045 480478.
