For the first time in a long time today, I was back behind my favourite orange ears and just maybe for a second things started to feel like they do happen for a reason…. One thing for sure though, nothing feels better than being reunited with your best friend. I hadn’t let myself realise how much I missed you H - thank you for mending my sad heart today you really are the best boy 🫶🏻 ❤️‍🩹

Lovely relaxing first day out for me & Eyecatcher only 18 months later than planned 🙈👶🏻 and producing a test that even Rody Kennedy was happy with really was the cherry on top 🍒 😂

Very emotional day waving off our beautiful Sophia as she begins travelling to her wonderful new home in America 🇺🇸🥹

I feel like I owe her so much. She let me find myself in the saddle again and gave me my confidence back on my own riding after having a baby. Every ride she improved on the day before and she always amazed me with how much we’d achieved in one session. It’s rare to find anyone who puts their heart and soul into everything like she does 💛

I know she’s going to go on and make her new owner very happy too and thank you SO much Crystalyn Russell for your wonderful matchmaking! We can’t wait to watch her progress on the next leg of her journey.

The China/Porcelain anniversary represents the delicate balance that a couple have achieved in their 20 years together… but I wouldn’t say it’s the most fitting anniversary for us because there is nothing delicate about my relationship with this girl. She’s as solid as a rock and she’s been right there with me through everything life has thrown at me since I was 11. We’ve had our fun over the years, the crazy times when she simply disappeared from underneath me 🤣 but I’m so grateful that we get we get to share these quieter years together now too 🥰 she’s simply the best.

Time for some all out honesty 💁🏻‍♀️

One thing I will say about this year is that has given me challenges that I wouldn’t have come up with in my wildest dreams. Whilst I have religiously worked on developing my mind-body connection over the years both as a human being and as a rider, never until now did it occur to me that I needed a body-mind connection that worked in the opposite direction!

Physical changes bring their own whole new set of mental challenges. How my body feels today can suddenly be very to the way it felt yesterday. Weird af. So do I look at my changing body as a boundary and accept it or do I try to figure out what I’ve got right now and work with it? My body didn’t lose any of it’s ability sure but it’s going to have to work harder and a little bit differently for a while. I guess I was just not prepared for how disorientating that can be!

I know I’m not as strong as I was 5 months ago and my balance seems to need recalibrating every single time I get on but I am so extremely grateful to Suarez for his patience in our training and putting me in this extremely privileged position where I am still able to ride. He definitely doesn’t realise how much he’s helping in so many ways: keeping my sanity and my HAPPINESS, letting my body figure out how to keep doing what it does best and of course by giving both me and my girl the most fantastic feel while we’re up there 😉
