Olly finished his puppy plan and he's now a more confident, calm and trained puppy ready for new adventures and experiences!

Educational Infographic for Interactions between Kids & Dogs !
Do you have kids or do kids usually visit your home and interact with your dog?

If you answered yes to the above, this infographic is for you!

Numerous studies have shown that kids are 3-5 times more likely to get bitten by a dog than adults. Most of those bites come from a familiar and not a stranger dog.
This is particularly interesting as it shows that those dogs are usually pushed to their limits and they are left with no other choice than biting.

This is a very handy infographic that you are encouraged to read, share and even print out and give it to someone that might benefit from it!
It's a very simple and straightforward way to teach kids how they should deal, communicate and engage with dogs while they learn what behaviours make the dogs stressed, anxious and sometimes angry.

It's a safety guide that will hopefully prevent dog bites towards kids and also adults that is available to all of you from Woof Me!

Dominance and pack theory have been debunked a long time ago but it seems like a lot of people and/or dog trainers out there still believe and follow it resulting in broken trust and relationship between people and dogs 💔

It's so sad and extremely unfair to our dogs to punish them for just being dogs and not let them live their short lives peacefully because we have this false perception that they want to rank higher in the hierarchy and become the alpha dog! 😰

The only thing that we all need to remember as dog owners/pawrents is the pyramid of dogs' needs and that includes the below

* Biological needs: Nutrition, water, exercise, sleep, shelter, safety, healthcare
*Emotional needs: Security, trust, love, consistency, guidance
*Social needs: Engaging with people/other dogs
*Cognitive needs: Choice, problem solving

Using dominance based techniques will intervene and destroy the emotional needs of the dog.

Let's all respect what our dogs are and try to understand them and communicate with them in an appropriate and ethical way.

Billy being so happy to hang out on his favourite spot of the house and who can blame him? It's beautiful there ❤️
He's the best boy but was a bit confused so his pawrents received the right instructions to proceed and help him adjust and learn new routines!

Having a dog that growls means that you have a dog who communicates well with you. They just let you know that they are uncomfortable with a situation. Our job is to respect it, stop whatever we did, give the dog some space and assess the situation. Try to find the cause of the growl, address it or make sure that it doesn't happen again.
Punishing the growl is like taking the batteries out of a smoke alarm.
Please be thankful for it and respect your dog's communication signals ❤

I sometimes get asked why is it bad to you use punishment and how the dog is going to learn if you don't punish an undesirable behaviour.
Well, here are my top 5 reasons why I don't like using punishment but believe me, there are definitely more!
I have been taught and I'm also a fairly believer that a dog should want to participate in the training because they actually like it and not because they are afraid of any bad consequences.
Punishment could work but at what cost?

Sweetest little girl with the best name ever ❤
Coconut is a lovely, friendly and very smart girl who did incredibly well in learning how to walk on a loose lead in one lesson!
More work and consistency is needed but I was amazed with how easy she picked everything up in such a short period of time!

Oh Snuggles, you're the cutest!
This little boy has managed to control himself in biting people, soil outside, sit, stay and settle and many more, in just 3 lessons❤
Very proud of himself and his mum!
He also wears our harness which is on sale at the moment and it's great for tiny/small breed dogs and puppies!

I feel like I shouldn't be reminding this to dog owners but sadly, I have to.
This is considered responsible dog ownership and respect to other people and dogs.
I unfortunately had to deal with unleashed and uncontrolled dogs in the past when my dog was attacked by a couple of them in different situations.
This is an extremely stressful experience that has left both me and my dog traumatised.

I know that a lot of people think that it's ok for their dog to approach other people or dogs because they might be friendly but this has nothing to do with how the other dog reacts to that.
Dogs that are reactive on the lead react to either friendly or unfriendly dogs. They will get extremely stressed, anxious, worried and edgy, same as their handlers.

Please be considerate of others.
