Hi everyone, we have been so busy that we forgot to post about 4 newest arrivals...
These four fur faces arrived on Thursday from the pound.....
We will post more details when they are ready for rehoming..

These 3 boys are each the last left out of 3 different families!
Tommy was born in the rescue in August 24. His mum Ellie came to us from the pound heavily pregnant.
She gave birth to 7 healthy babies.... Tommy is the only one without a home😢
Toby and Waffle came to us from the dog pound.
Toby was one of a 5 lab x pups and Waffle collie x.
These two young men are still waiting for their forever families!
Being pups they are blank canvasses. With patience and training all three if them will make great addition to any family.
They can live with another dog and can learn to live with a cat and small furries!!
All these boys deserve a place to call home...

💗Digby up date💗
Thanks to everyone who has donated towards Digbys surgery.
I was extremely anxious this morning dropping him off at the vets.
With all his other medical conditions, this surgery was high risk, without it he would be at an even higher risk of dying a very painful death...

I am so happy to tell you that Digby is out of surgery. The hernia was huge!! It has been repaired and all has gone well. He is now in recovery, keep everything crossed for him as the next 24 hours are going to be vital.
As always we want to thank our vets O'Connor Julian Veterinary in Cashel.
Especially Declan who operated on Digby today....
I will keep you all posted of his progress ✨️

💗Livia update!💗

Livia arrived to us last week. She had been subjected to awful cruelty. This tiny baby, only a few weeks old had her tail hacked off right at the base of her spine!! The injury was absolutely horrific and completely infected.
She underwent surgery at our wonderful vets O'Connor Julian Veterinary on Thursday. Emma who is absolutely gited as a vet , cleaned up the wound and managed to close it up with precision. ( No easy feat on a patient so tiny)...
Livia is a little trooper, she has bounced back as if nothing has happened.
We are now looking for a foster/ forever home for her.
This little black dot of a puppy looks like a terrier, however experience has shown us she could blossom into a leggy lurcher😅
She will need a home with human and other K9 company.
She can be trained to live with a cat or any other pet!
We are currently crate training her, you will need to continue this.
If you can offer Livia either a foster or( preferably) a forever home.

Indie, formerly Nova, is living her best life with Sue and family 🐾❤️
At last, a little update for you. She’s just the most wonderful little dog. Thank you, Carita.
We are just beyond happy to have welcomed Nova, now called Indie to our family. In the short week we’ve had her, she immediately stole our hearts, made friends with our elderly collie mix straight away, snuggling up next to her when possible. She’s such a loyal and friendly little dog who has settled in so quickly. She adores her beach walks, busies herself around the yard with me & just likes to hang out with her new family. She’s tested and found the comfiest sofa & armchair, loves a ride in the car, and has generally brought us so much joy already. Thank you to Mo Chara for allowing us to adopt her.

Thank you to the students from Ormonde College Grooming . They worked really hard today. It was great to see them.

**Upsetting Image**
This teeny tiny lurcher girl was found tonight in a ladies garden.
We cannot say to much as all relevant authorities have been informed.
She is appropriately 6 weeks old and has had her tail " chopped off" Not docked, which is illegal...Hacked off right at the base of her spine!!
She is also painfully thin.....
Tonight she is safe , she has had some good food, lots of water and as you can see is relishing in the comfort of my king size bed.
I will head to the vets with her first thing, hopefully they will be able to repair some of the damage...
I have christened her Livia.
Thanks to everyone concerned for getting her to safely .
Yet another of Irelands most abused and over bred dogs.
Will it ever end?

Meet our beautiful big boy untatooed greyhound Chester...
He is 28inches of pure handsomness!!
Chester was in the pound for a few weeks before he came to the rescue. This regal looking boy has had it rough in the 4 of his life!! At some point he has had a head injury, this appears not to have been treated and has left him with a deformed lower jaw😢
Chester is an absolute gentleman, he has shared is living space with several female K9 friends. He is a dream to walk and clean in his kennel.
Like most sighthounds this gentle giant requires very little.... Good food, somewhere to do his zoomies, a comfy bed to sleep the day away, but most if all love ❤️
NO CATS PLEASE!!!

💝 Golden Oldies💝
Here at the rescue we have a soft spot for elderly dogs. They turn up in pounds or found as strays on a regular basis. We believe that for whatever time they have left they deserve to be loved and cherished.
We have three " Golden Oldies " currently looking for that chance...
All these pooches need is a warm fire, good food , a secure garden to potter around in and someone to love them.
They would all make ideal companions for older people. Maybe one of your relatives would love the company of a K9 companion, but they feel they are too old to take on a young energetic dog?
We might just have the perfect pet for them.
As these " Golden Oldies" already have some little ailments or as they progress in years that may need the vets. Mo Chara will cover all future veterinary costs.
All we ask is that whoever offers them a home has way to get them to any appointments they may have!!

Bobby the beagle will be 7 in May. He was adopted from Mo Chara in 2019 along with another beagle Toby .
Both boys have been returned as the family is emigrating and did not want to take the dogs with them!!
Bobby is a typical beagle, nose to the ground and full if energy.
He will need a very active family and could live with a K9 companion.
Currently Bobby is extremely overweight, he is in a diet!!
Bobby sits when asked, walks well on a lead and is clean in his kennel.
He needs a family with older children as he is clumsy and bouncy, he would knock over little people.

Meet Sophia, she arrived to us yesterday. After hearing about her plight and knowing that PAWS don't have facilities for pregnant dogs or puppies. We had a move around in our isolation unit and prepared a snug, safe kennel for her to give birth.
Sophia has settled in really well.
She is still a few days off giving birth but is eating well and getting lots of rest ready for the big event.
A huge thanks to Olivia and Mary from PAWS who have been on maternity duty for the last few nights, they also transported her to us yesterday after her vet visit.
We will keep you all posted on her progress.

💘Digby Update💘
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far towards the vet bill for Digby.
Today he had a groom. Thanks to Ciara and Laura in O'Connor Julian Veterinary .
He did need to be fully sedated.
Following this he had a general health check. Sadly , as a result of years of neglect he does have a few medical issues. This will require extensive surrgery. We will let you know more later in the week.
For now he is back home, he looks amazing and is actually wagging his little tail.
If anyone else wishes to donate towards his vet bill , we would be very grateful.

Introducing little Argo. This little man joined us before Christmas with his litter mates (to be introduced shortly). He was the smallest and a little behind in his development compared to his brothers. On top of that, he got a very bad dose of kennel cough. So he moved in with me for extra TLC. I'm very happy to report that the little man is back to full health. He is full of puppy fun and mischief. Argos' favourite place is on the matt in front of the stove or on someones lap getting cuddles. Thank you to Laura and Trish and all the parents from Laura's Swim Academy, Rockwell pool, New Inn and Ferryhouse pool Clonmel. Every year they have a collection and donate to a local rescue centre. This year we were thrilled that they chose Mo Chara as their charity. The girls arrived in two cars both packed solid. Over 250 tins of dog food, 300 tins of sardines 40 large bags of pasta, 14 ,12kg bags if puppy nuts, 40 huge new fleece blanket, numerous dog coats, boxes and bags of dog treats, plus a huge bag of chocolates and goodies for all the humans too🥰 Thank you , Thank you, Thank you..

TWO MORE.....😭😭😭 Our isolation unit, now renamed our puppy unit is full!! It's closed...we cannot take in anymore puppies!! These two skinny, starving, parasite ridden babies were found yesterday in Fethard. Yes, more lurchers!! The most overbred and ill treated dog in Ireland. A fact which all rescues will agree with, but no authority with the power to do anything about it will recognise!! Whilst it is sad that babies like this end up in rescue, these are the lucky ones... They will get all the veterinary care they require, good food, a warm clean bed, loved and eventually found a forever home. There are hundreds if not thousands of poor lurchers out there who will never see a vet, are riddled with parasites and if they are females they will be pumping out litters of babies...and it's not recognised as a problem!! Please consider a lurcher when adopting a rescue dog...you will not regret it! #mocharaanimalrescue #adoptdontshop #rescuedismyfavoritebreed #lurcherlife #lurchersmakegreatpets
