This week the IEVA committee has written to the Minister for Agricultural to outline our concerns about the proposed changes in legislation concerning prescription and distribution of POMs.

As discussed in the letter 'The Irish Equine Veterinary Association have significant concern regarding the introduction of a Statutory instrument that not only is in stark contrast to One Health guidelines and EU Directives, but potentially undermining the Legislative framework and Code of Professional conduct upon which Irish veterinarians are bound to practice under, and ultimately compromising animal welfare and causing negative public health outcomes.'

Just in case you missed it IEVA are delighted to share that IMV imaging GB & Ireland IEVA24 have once again sponsored a fabulous prize for the 2024 IMV Case Award at IEVA24 at the Lyrath Estate on Friday 8th November.

IEVA Clinical Cases Awards will return for 2024.
As before, the Clinical Case Award competition is open to new veterinary graduates, including practitioners, interns and residents. The aim of the award is to offer a stage to present interesting clinical cases (or series of cases) with relevance to equine practitioners.
Four finalists will be selected to present a 15 minute Equine Case Report at the 2024 Conference and will have an opportunity to display a Poster presentation on their case report in the exhibition area.
All four finalists will receive a €250 award and will be granted free access to the IEVA Conference, dinner tickets and overnight accomodation at the Lyrath Estate!
The winner will be selected on the day, by a Jury of the Keynote speakers from the conference and awarded €1000 and a bottle of Champagne for their mentor
Case reports that are interesting and relevant to clinicians will be highly favoured!
Instructions and competition rules:
• Applicants are to be recent veterinary graduates (since 2019)
