The 3rd Ireland Leaders’ Forum and the inaugural Ireland Congress wrapped up in spectacular style at the stunning Killashee Hotel in Naas, Co. Kildare, at the end of October.

Over 200 colleagues joined us for two unforgettable days of networking, inspiring workshops, and thought-provoking talks, capped off by celebrating the exceptional individuals in our network at the Brilliant People Awards.

The event also featured a vibrant exhibition, offering delegates the chance to connect with our partners and strengthen those invaluable relationships.

A heartfelt thank you to our partners — this event wouldn’t have been possible without your generous support. Here’s to collaboration, connection, and celebrating brilliance!

This year’s Brilliant People Awards ceremony was truly special!

We celebrated ten outstanding finalists in our Brilliant People Awards, each nominated by their peers for their incredible dedication and contributions.

And a highlight of the night was honouring Michael Hatton of Anicare Veterinary Group with a Lifetime Achievement Award. A true legend, Michael has shaped countless careers throughout his distinguished time in the profession, sharing his knowledge, encouragement, and unwavering support.

Huge congratulations, Michael, from everyone at IVC Evidensia Ireland – and to all our finalists!

Ark Vets Galway desperately needed a canine blood donor to help one of their patients. After putting out a call, they received lots of offers and the wonderful Sid was a perfect match.

The team said that Sid was such a brave dog, with his tail wagging the whole way through his donation. As well as plenty of cuddles from staff, Sid received a treat, a toy, and a special Hero name tag, supplied by Petstop.

Canine blood donors help vets save the lives of other dogs in emergencies and Ark Vets in Galway have a Donor List. If you are in the Galway area and would like your dog to be added to their list, you can contact them on 091 510131.

Our practice spotlight this time is on Beaufield Veterinary Centre in Kildare.

This extremely busy practice has recently expanded to include a small animal hospital with state-of-the-art facilities including intensive care wards. They have an in-house lab, dedicated isolation wards, 3 surgical theatres and an orthopaedic suite.

Take a closer look and see some of the wonderful staff doing what they do best - caring for their clients' pets.

We're thrilled to announce that Ark Vets Galway are the first vets in the west of Ireland to have a CT Scanner in-house. They have also extended the practice and opened a new surgical wing. This investment means Ark Vets can provide world-class veterinary care right in the heart of their local community.

At IVC Evidensia Ireland, we're committed to providing world-class veterinary care at a local level. That's why investment in our network is crucial. With top-notch practices and talented veterinary professionals, we're dedicated to delivering the best care for the animals we treat.

Ark Vetcare in Dublin had a bittersweet celebration recently when they said a fond farewell to their clinical director Jim Walsh.

Jim has retired after 40 years as a vet. He co-founded the original practice and has worked with the team, old and new, ensuring local pets are able to live happy, healthy lives.

We would like to join the team at Ark Vetcare to wish Jim a very happy retirement!

Being a part of the community is important to every practice within our network. The IVC Evidensia Local Community Grants Fund gives our teams the chance to make a difference locally.

Southview Veterinary Hospital in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary has just been awarded a Community Fund Grant to support a local school, Rathkeevin National School. Practice Manager, Amy Fox said,

“This a local school and the kids work hard raising money for all different charities. We wanted to support them by sponsoring some equipment for their classes or sports events.”

Over 52% of people in Ireland own a pet and National Pet Month is all about promoting responsible pet ownership. We are celebrating the amazing benefits that pets bring to our lives, from companionship to keeping us fit. Happy International Women's Day! The animal health industry is full of inspirational women. Here's a selection of just a few in our network.

They have families, pets, friends, and hobbies that they need to make time for, as well as juggling full-on jobs in the veterinary industry. Caring passionately, daring fearlessly and sharing selflessly. We celebrate IVC Evidensia Ireland's inspirational women.

Thanks to a little microchip and an IVC Evidensia Ireland practice in Galway, Blueberry has been reunited with her owners after being missing for 4 years!

Blueberry was picked up outside of Supervalu in Moycullen by a man who noticed that he didn’t look well and was taken to Barna and Moycullen Veterinary Clinics. He was scanned him for a microchip and checked with Fido but there were no leads. So, the team started treatment for cat flu.

The following day Vet Nurse, Rachael, checked on Europetnet, which took them to Petlog, a UK site. Rachael called Petlog for the owner’s details but they couldn’t give them out. So, the team used their ingenuity and other connections to get the contact details and call the owners.

The owners informed the team that Blueberry had been missing for 4 years from Bangor in Northern Ireland. He had been spotted once before in the north but when they went to see if it was him, he was already gone.

It is unknown how he came to be in Galway but the owners said he did have a habit of jumping into cars so maybe he hitched a ride!

The owners organised to come pick him up and were delighted when they were reunited. If he had not been microchipped, the team would never have been able to find his original home.
