🎃🐾 Keeping Your Pets Safe on Halloween 🐕🐱

Halloween can be a fun and festive time, but for our furry friends, the noise and commotion, especially fireworks, can be extremely stressful and even dangerous. Here are some tips to keep your pets safe and calm during Halloween:

1. Treat or Treaters visiting? The safest place for your pets during Halloween is indoors. Bring them inside well before the festivities begin. Designate a quiet, secure room in your home where your pets can retreat to. Provide their favorite toys, bedding, and water to make them feel comfortable.

2. Lots of fireworks? Close windows and curtains to minimize noise and flashes. You can also play calming music or white noise to drown out the sound of fireworks.

3. Heading outside?If you have to take your pets outside, even to the backyard, make sure you supervise them closely. Pets can panic and try to escape during loud noises. Ensure your pets have proper identification, including a collar with an updated tag and, if possible, have them microchipped. This can be a lifesaver if they escape due to fear.

4. Stay Calm: Your pets may pick up on your anxiety, so try to remain calm and reassuring. Offer cuddles and comfort.

Remember, if you see any animal in distress call us or DM straight away.

And the good news is.....we are extending our Cat Neutering Scheme for another month. We are aware people have been disappointed and couldn't get appointments as there was such a big demand to get cats neutered under this scheme. This will be two months in a row. A big thanks to all the vets taking part. Book early to avoid disappointment again.

01/09/2023

We are pleased to announce a cat neutering scheme for the full month of September. Appointments can be made by calling the vet of your choice directly. We are urging pet owners to be mindful and responsible. We would love to see an increase in the amount of people getting their cats neutered. Cats can become pregnant at 4 months old. Neutering your cat ensures no unwanted litters and less strain on rescues that are already stretched to their limits. A big thanks to all the vets participating in the scheme.

These two ladies were in last week for their 2nd puppy vaccinations. 💉🦠🩺

This will help to protect them against the following;
Canine Parvovirus type 2b
Canine Parainfluenza virus type 2
Canine Distemper virus
Canine Adenovirus
Leptospira

It is very important to ensure puppies get the 2 primary vaccinations 3 to 4 weeks apart to ensure a good immunity is built up🐶

Thereafter, it is advised to get an annual booster to help your dog stay protected.
