Ciara and Delilah recently completed levels 1-3 of mantrailing.
Their final assessment was done on three different surfaces, involved three turns and a crossroad.
Ciara has brought Delilah to everything we had going and she showed great potential from day one of her Intro.
A real example of dedication and commitment.

We Love Woofland 🐾

We took a trip to Portlaoise today to visit the private dog park

The dogs had a ball. 😉😂 Literally. There's toys and tug ropes. Agility equipment and benches to have a rest. Loads of poo bags all around in case you forget your's (please always have your poo bags anyway)

2 Day Workshop with

Attention. You do not want to miss this.

Air scent and Cadavar workshops happening in Carlow this October. Lead by the ever talented Eadoine from Hounds and Helis, it's a weekend not to be missed.
If you've ever wanted to try your dog out in either of these sports then now is the time.

Saturday the 26th of October is Air scent day.
You will be put through the basics and your dog will be given the chance to air scent. All done under supervision.
An Air Scent dog works off lead, under the direction of the handler to search an area to find a person. This life saving skill is used by Search and Rescue Teams across the world. With Hounds and Heli’s, Air Scent Search is not just for use by professionals but is also a great activity for anyone who wants to spend quality time with their dog.

Sunday the 27th of October is Cadavar day.
You will be put through the paces and you and your dog will be given a chance to try out this amazing activity.
Cadaver dog training involves teaching dogs to detect the scent of human remains. They do this by locating the scent particles in the air and following them to the source. Cadaver dogs can work both on and off lead and will work in versatile environments including urban, rural, buildings, farmyards, farmland, forestry and will generally wear either a harness or a high visibility jacket.

Both days have limited numbers for dogs but no fear, if you don't nab a spot with your dog you can still come as a spectator 💪🏻👍🏻

Super work done today with Roxy and an introduction to her muzzle training. Well done .

An all round good boy. 🥰

Thor and his family came looking for help with recall and lead work. He kinda didn't know his own strength bless him. 🤣

After learning some basic cues and how to communicate a bit better with each other, these guys now have an unbelievably better outdoor experience.

I'll be checking in with Thor and his gang in a few weeks to see how their getting on. 💪🏻😉

Crate Training 🐾💞

When followed and trained correctly, is always a safe space for your dog.

Always consult a qualified dog trainer if your thinking of introducing crates to your puppy or dog.
When used in the wrong way, they will cause fear and trauma.

Rosie has been following a step by step plan to successful crate training and as you can see, really enjoys using her safe space ☺️🥰
